That's true, but compare Windows XP to Dos 5.1. Windows itself uses so many resources its crazy, and a lot of it is for cute little icons and fading windows and progressively shrinking folders (I've disabled all of that crap). One day, that's just how our computers will work. I won't use anything like that until it comes with a machine that I buy, but I doubt that I'll fight it.

In my opinion, that interface is ideal for the total computer noob. Which is a good thing for your grandma who always calls you on the phone to ask you how to get on the intarweb tubes.
