Do you know what Ragnarök is? In Norse religion, Ragnarök, or the Dusk (or Fate) of the Gods, was the battle that would occur at the end of the world. It sounds like you just decided to name some random character 'ragnerrokk' without so much as researching it. Please, don't post threads like this. Your story is totally cliche.

Hmm, I'm beginning to wonder if the WIP board needs a validation scheme similar to what noobies have to do. Ie, a mod has to approve a thread before it goes up, because the amount of useless threads is getting ridiculous

It's always been this way. There is a WIP protection already - it's the Lead Weight Principle. Basically, dumb threads quickly sink into the dregs of the WIP pit of bones, after a number of people tell the author to get lost. The actual 'Lead Weight' is the dumbness of the thread.

oooook then. Now why exactly didnt you already have some 3d models made? Here, you dont necessarily even need full FANTASTIC FINAL 3d models or anything. Just add some cubes and stuff for placeholders, take some screenshots of gameplay and put it on here. It doesnt matter if its nothing special, the dark basic community needs something to feed off of. If your post just supplies a bunch of text, and messages saying "The menu is finished...and the character CONCEPTS will be finished soon...by my mate..."
Now Im not flaming you or anything, just giving some CC. Next time you make a wip please already have those concepts DONE. By the time you post a wip the concepts should be finished, your world should be well into development and you should have some gameplay of some sort to show. Just look around on the forum for some examples, they are all over the place. Though there are a LOT of crappy ones so dont mistake those for goodies.

sith lord, this is terrible. Please, do some work then repost. Nobody wants to see a huge bitmap drawing of a stick. Did you read my post above? I don't want to be rude, but this is a post more suited for Game Design Theory than WIP, because this is a game idea, not a game.

I think that's a bit of an overstatement. He hasn't mentioned anything much about an actual 'game'. Sure he keeps typing '(rpg)' after the word ragnoaroc (nice spelling btw sith), but I haven't read much about gameplay or anything. This is more like... a bunch of half baked character names...

That doesn't even make sense. How could a bug make you lose models? What kind of bug was it, an alien attack on your computer? This is simply a poorly thought out excuse.

I like RPGs. I like DBP. Therefore, I am particularly fond of RPGs made in Dark Basic. I support all of them, and help when I can. Let me help you out - go learn how to program, get a copy of 3D World Studio, learn how to model, enter about 3 or 4 competitions, then come back here. An RPG is extraordinarily complex, and you need a solid foundation in art and programming to be successful.

This thread should be locked. Only flaming will follow, and this thread clearly does not meet the guidelines of a WIP thread. Sorry sith lord, it's nothing against you. This thread is simply poorly conceived, and you've followed up the feedback with excuses.

The only way to loose ALL of your models in a PC crash is if you made them all side by side as one big model. And no one in their right mind would create the town, their dragon lancer man, and all the weapons in one model and then forget to save that one model. I've tried to stay out of this thread, but that was just pathetic.

WIP boards should not have a validation scheme because threads like this don't happen that often anymore. If you add a scheme it'll just be more work for people with real games to share.

well this thread is active becuase it says: "rpg" in the title. almost every one on this forum knows that if a thread that has (rpg, orpg, morpg, mmorpg) in the title and it does not contain one screen of gameplay its a crap post that is wasteing people times and the game is a joke and will never get past an idea and the thread is easy picking for flameing

i know this is a use less thread but is this what the comunity has come to? basicly rippin into an obviously new coder in ever way shape and form if you dont like what is in it then leave it and maybe he does have some work done but is reluctent to show it as you are all being horrible to him (maybe he doesnt) this is not the way these forums used to be...

i dont realy see where grammer comes into this he could be as young as 9 and if you mean me hehe it known that im Dyslexic i cant use grammer proper ( and im 24) i even got turned down from a college due to this fact and it has never done me any harm with codeing

My comment on grammar can not be remotely compared to complaining. Many people make grammatical mistakes.

But cash, what you said literally made me laugh out loud. You were one of the first to 'rip' into this person. Nice dude. But you are right about one thing. This thread should die. However, you'll probably reply and this'll keep bumping up. So it probably needs to be locked. We'll see...
