To use all the eye candy yes.

But Vista will choose the best settings on Install for your comp. Then if you want, you can change them, but will really slow down you comp, if it's not that fast.

Its possible the minimum requirements aren't enforced with the beta - Microsoft have more than enough problems with Vista at the moment anyway.

I've found that Explorer has crashed when deleting files or even undeleting them - at least this time your informed that its crashed. It does restart quicker too.

Its one way of selling Vista more, plus it would mean updates would be slow if they kept them for XP.

Hope it's not a laptop. (Or does acer only run on laptops?) Well, I suppose Acers are good for Overclocking, but, for some reason my acer computer died about 2 months after i got it, that taught me to always get warrentys. I later found out it was the charger, that's why i dont get laptops anymore.

DirectX 10: Sad it only emulates OpenGL 1.2, is there a way to put OpenGL on the system? And if DirectX 10 only works on Vista, then, i'm screwed for getting this computer 2-3 months ago. But then again, Vista is taking a long time to come out...

OpenGL 1.2 will only be emulated if you don't have OpenGL drivers or your system.

15gb for install?!? That is just insane. What the heck is this world coming to?

I'll wager that 14.2 gigabytes of that is nothing but bloated interfaces to make people go "oooo, ahhhhh" just before the BSOD hits them.
