Is there a way to make models sit down on a chair?

Yeah but youd have to re-rig the char you wanted to sit down. If you look at this thread: http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=84087&b=24 I re-rigged the colonel to kinda show off the Mech. Youd nee'd to get the chair you wanted and reposition the rigged model in it to get the right height. Perhaps import a desk as well if you want him/her sitting at one. You'd have to reanimate here doing whatever task you want done. Trying to use the animations for climbing and repositioning the the model to chair height would look funky.

I would just import the model you want to sit down, and put it into a pose, then export.

Be kinda fake though wouldn't it? To have a non moving entity like that would be the easy way.....but look like poop.

You can always animate it, but what I said would be the easy way for people with no animation experience.

I believe Uman succeeded in getting one of the characters to remain seated (with an animation), in his game.

Well theres a couple ways you could do it. Like:

1. make a model sit down in a chair in your modeling software. Make the top of the body transparent. Set a full animated model on top and position with the x/y/z. Make the bottom of the animated model transparent. Looks like the animated models legs just don't move.

2. In situations where you wouldn't see the legs adjust the y coordinates to taste and make the idle animation like the crouching or other....suit to taste, adjust y as needed.

I'm sure theres other stuff if you think on it. Basically though without any animating experience all of the methods will have flaws and not look as god as animating a guy on a park bench reading a paper or a woman sitting behind a desk doing secretary stuff. Best bet is always going to be import the FPSC animations and tack a new "idle" animation on the end so it will do this inane task till its shot or whatever.Only problem you'd probably run in to is say you have a guy on a bench ..soon as you shot him he'll use the cower animation and part of his body will be in bench more then likely unless you animate him getting up from the bench and moving prior to cowering. One set of chores and extras leads to another.

There is a "sit" script available in the FPSC scripts forum.
It worked for the EA version but not in this one.It makes the character kind of sink into the floor a little.
But if you put the character behind a table or desk it will appear like they are sitting.
You can run your game and walk up to the character and tell it to sit down or you will shoot it.
Of course, the character will not hear you screaming into your monitor or sit down but you do get the satisfaction of blowing the character away.
The only other option I can think of other than using the "sit" script like I mentioned above is to rig the character like has been previously stated.
