Nice work; and I see you left the board empty for others to fill in.

the dartboard looks good at first glance then you start to notice things like the board itself is rotated 90 degress so the 20 is where the 6 belongs and the dart board model is not set correctly with the wall attach arrow it should be pointing int the other direction unless you plan on playing on the back of the board. other than that its a good copy of my original other than the fact that mine is higher poly but astecically correct. please stop making duplicates of my work.

OK, I wasn't really going to say anything, because you seem like a good enough person. But I'll tell you why (I think) Locrain is doing this.

A while ago someone posted a pack of wood textures for sale here; these textures were made with a free program called "Wood Workshop". If the person had at least messed around with the settings a bit to get a few original textures, I wouldn't have done anything; but all they did was include all the premade textures included with Wood Workshop, wrap it up and try to sell it to the community. So I made up a pack of my own (actually taking the time to create some original textures) and gave it away for free.

Though your models are good, they aren't really something that couldn't be found for free on the net somewhere, or made pretty quickly (your dartboard did look good though...did you make that texture from scratch, or use a reference image?). Myself, as well as many others, have given away quite a bit of free media to the community; and only recently did I start to make commercial media packs...not because the quality wasn't there, but because I felt it was better to establish a relationship with the community before taking their money. I'm not saying that's how everyone should approach this, it's just the way I do things.

As far as Locrain "stealing your thunder", I can't find anything wrong with it; its called competition. I think he saw someone relatively new to the community, trying to sell a few models that he felt were easy to make; and wanted to give a free alternative. The design on the beer can (whether the "B" is turned into a "P") is neither the property of you or Locrain...it is copyrighted to the relevant beer company.

As I said previously; I believe you to be a decent person, and all of the above is merely my opinion. Take it as you like.

Dose anyone else hear that buzzing.....like a fly or mosquito or something........anyways.

Yeah Keith, I was going to write stuff in then I desided to double up that part of the UV map so I didn't want writing backwards.lol.....It wasn't so others could fill it in but I'll run with that ..yeah.

These freebies are in a bit of a haste and when I get time from my other computers doing cinematic renders.

i understand your comments but all models are fairly easy to make and for someone that can make their own dosent need to purchase from me or anyone else for that matter unless they just dont have time to do it themselves.

Thx s4real. I re-uploaded a new installer with your mip'ed dds. Some reason the dds exporter crashes my CS8 on this comp. I should try it on another comp cause the mip mapping is great. Just can't do it here. The Normal maps work fine from the same plugin......can't figure it out.

When I release a model/models I am more than happy if some modifies my model.
Why release something if you don't allow someone the creativity to do what they want with it.

Fred thats not his model or textures. This guys been making high poly versions and trying to sell them on this site. When told his items were to high on the count his reply was to the effect "I tested and 3000 polys is no different then 300". He only changed his mind after Candle's FPSC crashed with 4 of his tables in a scene( they were, I think said, 10,000 polys?).

I consider this an attempt to take advantage of new people to game making. So rather then arguing with this guy since he has no clue, I'll be making his whole collection and releasing it free in low poly versions.

Also I'm not sure what mod locked the beer can thread but how bout just deleting the post you don't like. No reason to lock a thread cause someone spams it 3-4 times in a row. Kinda throwing the baby out with the bath water.
