Hey Guys

I was just wondering if its possible to script an AI companion who would follow you and fight on your side against enemy's. Like in HL2, what Alyx is to Gordon Freeman. When she follows him, and shoots the enemy's.

When FPSC gets and update the anwser may be somewhat different - but thats not certain by any means.

I like to use the followplr command as part of a rescue mission.
You find the person, useaction=1 to initiate the follow and lead them to an exit to win. Trying to keep them alive when ray traces are flying everywhere is fun but try taking them through a minefield. Wahoo!
Talk about something jump’n up and biting you in the but-tocks. Lt. Dan has nothing on this!

What the hell? Ray CASTS? Look, first, enemys can't shoot enemys and raycasting won't do much except say if there is a collision possible infront of an enemy, and then you can't tell if it is a wall or an enemy. Of course anywithin tells you if it is an enemy but it doesn't distinguish the player from the enemys.

And who is lt dan?
