Hey guys,

Does anyone have the (intro) tabs for "The Root of All Evil" by Dream Theater? Ive searched many engines and they all have tabs but for the part right after the intro. Im guessing the intro is acoustic guitar mode on a keyboard or something, but if anyone can tab it or as found it, kindly report here.

That's a good song . The intro, I think, is just one chord. I don't play guitar, but...http://metaltabs.com/tab/9171/, is that what you want? It looks right to me. All I did was search "the root of all evil tab" on google...

Hmmmm, the part from 00:00 to 00:19 is just a bunch of weird noises. It sounds like a synthesizer. The acoustic guitar doesn't come in until around 00:28. If you want the tab for those acoustic guitar chords at the begininng, that URL I gave you is correct. I'm confused .

@Dr. Manette:

Ok maybe I dont have the full song. But the tabs you sent dont have that acoutic guitar part. But it would be great if you can tab it.

On the URL I posted, right after it says "drums: rabadabadam dada dam", it says:

"

I'm positive that's the first guitar chord you hear in the song. What other part of the song could it be? Seeing as the music doesn't really kick in until it says "riff".

Did you tune your guitar to how it says? Did you try playing it?

By the way, I can't play guitar, so I can't tab it for you. Also, I'm listening to the original track on the album "Octavarium", not any live version.

Im listening to the original track too. Im talking about the acoustic guitar part, obviously the acoustic pre intro part is played 1 tab by 1 the (rock) intro however, starts using rock chords and stuff. Im guessing its played by keboards, but still, it seems easy to play, I just cant figure out the tabbing. I think you need to be a guitarist to get it right.

This is what I hear:
1. A bunch of weird noises coming from a synthesizer.
2. Then the acoustic guitar comes in with an echo to it.
3. Mike Portnoy starts hitting the drums
4. Another strum of an acoustic guitar with another echo.
5. Then there are four electric guitar chords and then the music kicks in with the main riff.

The only acoustic guitar parts I hear are those two sturms with the echo. Maybe I'm missing something. I don't know of any other acoustic guitar parts in this song. That tab I gave you looks fine to me, but then again, I'm not a guitar player. But I can play the piano well, so if you need help with chords, I can be of a better help there.

You're talking about the part at the very beginning, right after the keyboard piano note, right? That is a bass guitar.

Hold on, that download that you posted Keemo is NOT ANYWHERE in "The Root of All Evil" by Dream Theater. You must be listening to another song.
This is "The Root of All Evil": http://youtube.com/watch?v=66sqh4-kYJM

Can you attach that to your next post or something? savefile.com aint workin

Nevermind, got it.

Yeah, that is not Root of All Evil. I don't even recognize it.

Ok, it is a song called Crucify off James Labrie's (DT's lead singer) side album.

I can't find good tabs for it. I'll try and tab it for you.

I thought it was the root of all evil. My apologies. But hey, this song aint that bad after all. The real root of all evil is great, thanks Dr. Manette.

@Jimmy: These tabs arent that accurate, no offense.
