I've had FPSC for about a week now and have found the need to create some FPI scripts. However notepad was just not doing the job.

So I wrote my own FPI editor with color syntax highlighting, insert commands and more. It's now ALOT easier to see how the scripts themselves flow... so to speak.

It will be finished in a day or two.

Here are some screenshots...

I am going to move this to the scripts forum.
You need to post your screenshots here so we can see them.
A link to your screenshots won't work.
Good luck on your project.
On another note just because you get the script syntax right does not mean the script will actually work.
Moved to the scripts forum.

This looks very professional and it's something we could all use. Thanks for your time and effort. I know the community will appreciate it.

I don't know if you included an import feature. That would be very useful as well. Don't hesitate to ask for testers when the time comes.

Thanks for the kind words. The GUI will change before I'm finished.
Most of the stuff there now are merely temp placeholders.

Could you explain what you mean by 'import' ?

BTW: I don't know how much the 'community' is going appreciate it, since I'm going to charge a small fee for it.

But... the windows help file that will be included may be worth something if the program is not. Since it will contain a page for each command, and for each comand page a 'syntax worthy' (but not really usable) example, plus a list of every script that is included in FPSC V1 that uses that particular command .

Well we have a good selection of them. FPI Maker being a primary. There have been secondarys poping in and out but no definitive answer from them.

Your Mod was deleted by the Government.

I can only tell you the way I think when it comes to buying things like this. If I can't use it, see it work, realize some value from a program/script/whatever, I steer clear. I don't know you, the makers of other programs, or your or their products. What works for me, and this is normally what makes the sale, is a 'lite' or 'trial' version of the software that I can get dirty with.

Trust me, I realize the amount of work involved in creating such a program, and like I said, your work looks very professional. In my opinion, you need to realize your market and adjust accordingly. Well, enough of my opinion.

By import, I simply mean that it can open and edit existing scripts. I started on one a while back with multiple windows so I could view an existing script in one and write in the other. Never finished it though.
Nice work and good luck with the project.

I thank everyone for thier opinion and comments. To try and answer everyone at once. It's written in VB. It does have a fully-functional-time-limited trial version to download and try out first.

As far as syntax checking etc... It does not check your syntax. However it does need to be smart enough to know the syntax of FPI to do the command look up features it contains. For example: the STATE command is both a condition and an action, depending on where it is on a line of script. The program knows which of the two it is. So some syntax checking is there but there is none to make you write correct working script that does what you want it to in your game.

However I may come up with a RAD interface one day to automate some stuff or create script from snipplets? Or expand the help files with some tutorials or more examples.

Anyone who wants to give it a go can check it out here...

Now that I'm done with it for now.. May I'll get some time to browse the forums some more. Or even make a game with FPSC!

Later...
