Bearing in mind the 7300 will be a lot worse in performance than the 6800 . Infact... that card is worse than my old geforce 2

Dunno how you can be getting poor performance with a 6800,what brand is it? Generally those cards are quite good

I remember playing the Thief demo on the P200 at work, with some cruddy 2mb graphics card - damn that was a good demo, we'd play it all afternoon just annoying the guards. I remember playing the HL demo too, funny how these games ran on practically nothing by todays standards.

ah yes, the guards. i remember i allways made them chase me and stuff.
i could play with the guards for hours on the same level.

i remember when i discovered HL had an video options menu and where i could turn on direct x. i was amazed by the graphics, it was so very different from the opengl option.

Because HDR is a waste of processing power... yes, we are in HD, with bump mapping and everything... I know! I have an idea! Let's use a washout effect so you can't see any of it!

Since the other one was scaring you guys so much...
