Yep, I'm doing it again. This pack comes with an installer that will put everything where it needs to go for you, and normally goes for $8.95. If you haven't picked this up yet, now's the time. Just click the link to be taken to the store. The .3DS files are also included in the download.

The sale ends on August 19th.

We'll I believe you get 2nd choice.

You shouldn't really do that on a texture; the engine's shaders will give an object it's shadows. This pack's been wrapped up for awhile now, with a number of people who've bought it already; so there won't be any changes made to the textures now. I also figured people could make the items a bit more dirty if they wanted; it's harder to make a texture look 'clean'. But thanks for the comment/critique.

Oh, you mean texture-wise. I got you now. Yeah, I had to strike a balance between clean and real dirty. It would've been easier if I was making the pack for our own game only, then I would have known exactly the right look to go for. But since I was making them for the masses, I had to go with a happy-medium.

Looks like I hit you at the right time then. Thanks for your business, Luke.

Don't forget to go to the main advertising page, and grab your 1024x1024 textures and UV Maps!

Thanks again,

Keith you did fine on the textures. Nothing against Jon but he likes making his mass grunged and it kinda makes his packs proprietary software. You either have to use all his packs to make stuff like textured or it sticks out like a sore thumb. Nothing against Jon. I like his packs. Just don't go with anything but his own packs.

I got the pack, and it is working great!

What is the benefit to downloading the 1024x1024 textures and UV maps? Isn't the highest FPSC can display 512x512?

Thanks for the Kudos, Locrian (see, I can spell).

Luke; I've done a side by side comparison with the 2 different resolutions, and you can definately see the difference in FPSC (so, yes you can use the higher resolution). It's just that it will also take up more memory for the higher resolution textures. Some game engines can handle the higher resolutions better (i.e., 1024x1024); which is why you also have the .3DS versions in the pack you downloaded, so you can use them in another application if you want. I'm glad you like the pack (and you only paid half price for it to boot ).

Locrian= 7th mode of the Greek major musical scale. Believed to invoke satan in the 13-15 century because of the minor 2nd and its dissonance in realation to the other intervals.(I'm not a satanist, just loved the history of the musical mode; I give classical guitar lessons)

Well that's another check on the "things I didn't know" list. I take it the musicians who constantly hit that "mode" were burned as a witch?

Well the scale actually contains a minor second and flatted fifth, think of Black Sabbaths song "Black Sabbath", the title track by the same name on their first album(You know that song that Ozzy sings thats starts out "What is this.....that stands before meeeeeee....big black shape.." blah blah . The 3rd note, in that 3 note riff is a flatted fifth). I could pick out some obscure classical piece but most people my age know that song. A minor second is Jaws...you know the theme....thats how I tell students to remember it...you know...dum dom dum don..

That songs intro riff is Locrian till it hits the chorus, bringing in Aeolian( or natural minor ). And from I read yes they were burned at the stake. It was a law nothing could be composed in Locrian at the time by the Catholic church.

"....Figure in black, that points at me..." Yeah, I remember; my Dad's favorite band (with Ozzy). I did like Heaven and Hell (with Ronnie James Dio) pretty well though; especially "Neon Knights".

Catholic Church, huh? Not going to get started on that (A.U.P. and all); I'd just get riled up.

I always like these little tid-bits of info though. Thanks.

It looks like Wehtam is taking the ad in the NSG Newsletter for his prize, so this pack is yours if you want it. Send me a PM in the OG Forums with your info.

Keith,
Joom sent me zip today and I got it fine. I like the installer you use. At this time I'm yet to closely inspect stuff but it's installed and I'll look at things tomarrow.

Sounds good. Don't be afraid to mock up a scene and show it here. I'm always interested in what people can do with it (other than FredP's obsession with the Stop Signs). Don't forget that you can still grab the UV Maps and create your own textures (I know you can make some good ones), as a timesaver.
