We had to make it that way due to a few customers having problems downloading their packs after paying for them; as well as being able to come back and re-download your items at any time (you couldn't do that without a registration system). This way you only have to sign up once, and can come back and buy other items (whenever I get off my butt and make them) at any time. The information you provide is the same (or less) that you would provide for any other online store (such as Amazon.com, etc.).

Thanks for buying the pack, Jon; we bought yours awhile ago.

This is the last sale I'll have on this for quite some time; so if you've been thinking about getting it...now is definately the time.

yeh i suppose its neccisary, i would actually love to integrate a shop system into my website, though i know hardly anything about web programming, i wouldnt know where to start...

does your webhost offer the shop system or did you create it?

by the way, a basic screenshot of the WW2 Pack #1 integrated with some segments, pillars and one of the weapons from corepak volume 2, just goes to show this pack can fit in anywhere

thanks for the UV maps aswell, i might just create some variations

The system's there, but The Old Man modified it a bit (I believe). We've talked about revisiting the store in the future to make the process a bit more streamlined. We'll have to do that in the next few months before our first commercial game is ready to ship, I imagine.

Thanks for showing this. Sometime's I wonder if I shouldn't have called it a WWII Pack, because most of that stuff can be used in other types of games. That's a nice sniper rifle by the way (I forsee many sales).

That's why I made them available; to make the pack as versatile as possible. Be sure to show us the re-textures you do (and feel free to put them up if you wish).

yes, i only learned half way through the development of the weapons that i could use 1024 textures (i thought 512 was the max)

one of the victims of this fall was the M249, a 512 for such a big gun, what a shame, i might have to make some larger variations for some of the guns when done

first commercial game eh? is that the one which you are using Torque 2D for?

Yes it is.

That's OK; I realized not too long ago that it is better to paint your textures in "true resolution", if the target resolution is 512x512, then paint it in 512x512...instead of reducing it from 1024x1024.

Traynor; I used box modeling in a program called TrueSpace (I also used GameSpace, which is essentially the same thing only less expensive); and I did my texturing primarily in a program called Paint Shop Pro (version X). The biggest thing I learned while making the pack was how important file organization is.

Here's 2 lists in our forums to help get you started:

3D Modeling Programs

2D Texturing Programs

There are plenty of tutorials, forums, and helpful people around to help get you started in whichever program(s) you choose to work with.

As far as the moderation of your posts; it doesn't matter how long you've been a member, I believe it's how many posts you make. However, if this goes on for much longer you could try contacting Richard Davey at: rich@thegamecreators.com; to see what's going on.

Well, the sale ended. Thanks to all the new customers, I really appreciate it; I'd like to see them used in some of your screenshots in the future.
