Tried many things, and searched about, but alas, I'm missing something here.

I want to load a .png which I know has a transparent background, or more specfically no background at all. I load it up in paint.net or Microsoft Photo Editor, and I see nothing at all behind the image.

When I load it into DBP I end up with a solid black background appearing. How do I stop that from happening?

You set the dependent media transparency to On.

For example, if you texture an object with the transparent PNG,

Quote: "Set Object Transparency obj, 1"

and then it will work.

Don't you have to use 2 or 4 for a PNG?

Since the other one was scaring you guys so much...

2 and 4 are just different blending modes. I use pretty much all of them for different things. If an object needs to be transparent against itself, 1 is fine. If you need to see other objects through the object, then other blend modes are necessary. I commonly use all of them except for 3, it never seems to do what I want it to.
