Was working on a small side project and thought I'd toss it up for you guys to see. It's a remake of Dragon Warrior 4 on the NES. The map of the town and castle are incomplete. The stairs do work and you can go into the castle, but the front of the castle isn't built yet so it's invisible right now ( more like doesn't exist ). Just follow the road straight up the center of town into the blue and youll get another loading screen. I've added a link to a map for reference so you can see how close I got the level and textures to the original, and so you can see where the castle doors are if you want to explore in there.

Controls:
W - Up
A - Left
S - Down
D - Right
Ctrl - Crouch
Shift - Walk
Space - Jump

Nice, perhaps you should try roofing though?

If you do that, you can try what cash curtis does with his game, or just enter a new level. (Just a suggestion)

Ive never actually played the game, but i do like those older RPGs.

Wow. This is really cool. It took too long to load though . There must be a faster way.

I'm working on increasing the speed of the loading process.

You could loadt while the menu plays (If you have a menu) and once the player clicks on the button to play it starts loading from where it left off.

Just a bizzare idea.

Woohoo, Dragon Warrior! I loved playing that old game.

I'm working on a high res photorealistic texture pack. High res as in 7 megapixels, e-mail me with suggestions.

Yeah it looks really cool, I like the 2D look but the angle of viewing the 3D objects makes it feel like you're really looking "top down".

Yeah the loading needs to be faster, not sure what you gotta do there, though.

Will you have full 3D models for the combat?

I'm not a real programmer but I play one with DBPro!

tiresius: Yes, I will have full 3D models for combat. Here's the slime from the game. Still working on it since his head seems a bit pointy right now, lol.

[Edit] Fixed the slime model.

[Edit] Working on the Sand Master model.

So, are you still working on this project?

I hope so, I always loved Dragon Warrior and you seemed to be doing a nice job.

The slime needs bigger eyes and needs to be smoother. Take it from me - I own a slime controller. <_< >_> <_< >_> >_<
