YES YES YES!
Homeworld is my favourite RTS by far, played through it several times
. It had lots of strategy, a cool storyline and a sufficiently long/challenging/varying campaign (hehe, the gardens, junkyard, and that one sphere of ships come to mind
). What was also cool about it was that even though i got it for like $10-15 it came with the soundtrack on a separate CD... now that's classy (they got best soundtrack of the year, it's pretty good
). It's just really fun to plot out in 3D space, deciding which direction the enemy is most likely to come from and placing mines, turrets, etc appropriately...
what's also fun is playing a carrier game and... well.. yeah it's a great game
as far as other RTS games though I'd say i like AOE II best, starcraft was pretty good but i didn't like it as much... (i never owned it, but I've played the broodwars version of it for about 6-7 hours maybe)
if you're a star wars nut then galactic battlegrounds wasn't
too bad
