Hello everyone, Im back with an idea, after having a chat with
SilverMasters about making terrain segment, I was thinking about
the problem I was having with my bridge enity that Im currently
making for my new game, the problem was getting the player to walk
all the way across the bridge, for some reason it would stop halve way, I tried everything I can think of to get it to work right, I even lowered the poly count but no do, so I decided to cut my model
into parts and make segments out of them and so for Im getting results and the player seems to have no problems crossing, check out the screen shot form the side, now this is just a proto type and Im still constructing it and the texture isn't all the way there.

Water entity can make cause lag, if you have much. Allso, big open areas cause lag.
By the way, I have more realistic water textures. I will post them, if someone is intrested. That water looks like same as "water segememnt" I have found. Does that water inlude some textures, two water decals and a segement?
Forgot to tell, That bridge looks nice.

yea it is water segments, I was just using them to show off the bridge, and I was getting terrible frame rate, Thats because the water segments have too many entities at one time, and it causes lag big time, that was the problem I had when I tried making the bridge an entity, it being too big it caused lag to where I couldn't even walk a cross, hay Samuli, if you dont mind could you post those water textures, I would like to try an idea, water segments without entities, I would be greatful.

looks nice, but how comes nobody can add any diffusion of light to their textures, makes them look like lego bricks, a bit of shading can go a long way

good idea, i might try out a bridge

well Luke314pi, Im realy working hard on finishing them, everything that I'm making is part of my new game called the Call Of Valor, and Im trying to give it that call of Duty look, and I figured that I'll go ahead and give what I make to the forum, but it will be a few days or even a week before I finish them so just keep an eye out on the this topic for updates and screen shots.

I agree Jon Fletcher, diffusion of light would make it better, at first i made the bridge an entity using my first model using these features, but when I went back and change it abit, I had redo most of the model so I didn't add diffusion of light to them yet, so please bare with me until the segments are completed, they will get better.

I dont think it's just bridges. I have the same problem when I make a usable building (1 you can walk in), and if I put a floor in it, the player always gets stuck. Even when I mess around with the collision mode, it still happens.

I have several intriquit bridges that I made a month or so ago, but cant release them until the problem is solved. so far, no go.

Thats right Stamina, I also had the same problem with house and buildings, but you could try making full models segments for your buildings, I tried it and it works, just dont go crazy with size.

and thank you
