Newcomers DBPro Corner / A* Pathfinding.... Help

Now I'm not a total noob, though I am a little puzzled on A* pathfinding. I have looked at Ian's library, but I have DBC and I'm not sure if it will work, also I don't really understand it that well. The reason why I'm using A* pathfinding is because I am working on a PacMan like game where lets just say the ghosts have to obtain something instead of killing the player. I hope someone will reply with some valuable information, which well help me so much, and other people who search the forums struggling to understand A* Pathfinding.

This is an excellent tutorial, its the one I used to learn A*. The tutorial is not language specific (though for example, the author gives code in blitz basic and C++).

The only way to learn it is dive in head first and start coding it out! Took me a while to finish the first time I tried. If you have any specific questions, I can answer them for you.

Thanks Hope it's easier than it looks to covet codes from C++ to DarkBASIC.

If Ian didn't do it, I think someone else already has converted Ian's library for DBC.

I think that Mattman converted it, although I'm not totally convinced everything worked - check the Program Announcements, search for the thread A*

It didn't.
There was some sort of function problem.
