Whether its bin done before or not, ive decided to make a tycoon style game where you can run your own aquatic store. This will be my first major project and perhaps the first ill finish lol.

Here are the main features I hope to implement into the gameplay:
-Design the store layout
-Buy and sell fish stock
-Care for the fish
-Watch people come into your shop etc
-Employ staff
-Breed fish and sell them
-Hundreds of species of fish
-Hundreds of products to stock your shop with
-Weekly Buying of stock from a virtual catalogue

The game will be completely 3D and have a feel like that of the first sims game.

So far I am building the basic controls of the shop section of the game. I hope to have this game finished in a few months and realise how much work I need to do lol.

The game will have professional looking models and textures.

If anyone has any ideas that could be implemented into this game please post them.

Daniel

You may want to post some screenshots before the heat is turned up.

When i saw this topic's name, i thought Jordan Stories was at it again. Sounds good, but you need more screenies of the game.

That isnt the game, thats just the mock up thing i threw together so i can get the background coding right. That mock up is pants, theres no point doing the design part properly till ya got the coding part done is there. Got a few days work left before theyll b ne screenies worth posting. So ignore that other one

In a few days any other ideas may be too hard to add in to the game

The WIP is to show work in progress, no necessarily for ideas to add. You're saying you're working on something, but that doesn't necesarilly mean you've got something, the majority of posts in this board are like that.

I'm not saying you've got nothing done, but so many other people have started threads with no work done, you really do need to post up stuff like screen shots.

Oh well exuse me Monkey Man! It looked nice though. I'll take it down, this is obviously not ready for a WIP in that case.

Actually Jordan Stories Games is a group of people. Anyway, I hope they don't read this thread... They'd get pretty angry if they read these comments I bet...

Sorry if I annoyed everyone by posting this too early. Im at the point where I can use the edit mode in the game to create an object to put in the mock up shop and move it around, just need to create a user type to hold each objects information then need a menu interface to select the objects from then we should be ready for a screenshot. Perhaps tomorrow

I like these kinds of games, and if you noticed on the DBP board I just posted a function for just this sort of thing.

As for JSG, I will let you in on a little secret, here is the secret code used to make their games.

Yeah your right, you should be talking to people in front of them. Talking to someone while standing behind their back would be rediculous!

ouch, Jeku, give da guy a chance, tho this post is rather inundated with off-topic chatter, so maybe it would b a good idea to lock it, and wait for Monkey to get some screens, and post an official one
