This is Ted , part of the Zomboy pack. Poor guy he was working as a janitor for the EA3 military base on um...venus, when some strange experiments that he had to clean up infected him. Now he roams the halls of the EA3looking for his next meal and trying not to get knocked off by some jerk with a shotgun running around collecting keys and such. He'll be available as well as 3 others and other items ofcourse in Part 3 of Creeps and Freaks vol.1.

Jokingly thats what I based him off of. EAC-EA3, i just uded ea3 cuz if it flips it will still say EA3 and the base he worked on was venus wich is the opposite of mars. I remembered some were wanting a fat zombie like from doom3 so there he is.

yeh, i made one a while back too, im actually pretty ashamed of it now, aswell as most of my old characters...lol, well you certainly did a good job on this one.

ive gotta take another shot at a fat guy when cp2 is done

@Jon- Took a long time to get character modeling down, still have a lot to learn. i don't think you're going to have any problems considering how well honed your modeling skills are as is.

@Luke314pi - Coolness I can't wait to see what you can do with him.

That is excellent, Disturbing 13, only one small crit though. On the blood (mostly on his belly, not his chest or any other parts), the evidince of airbrushing is very noticeable. Very small detail, like I said, but it doesn't really matter when your poppin' him full of led.

try some hard edged brushes, almost as if the blood is dried and crusted onto his skin, i think it would only spread out like it is if the skin were a wet shirt-cloth-like material...sorry im going a bit specific, lol

Jsut trying to get into modelling myself, at the moment, so I may be posting some weapons in the near future!
Also, i dont know if you can do this, as it may increase poly count considerably, but why not exchance one of his hands for a stump, with the bone still there?

@Smitho- Thanks! Accually it would lower the pollycount as it's a full 3d hand, but I will wait for doing that, as I am creating a pack after Creeps and Freaks is complete called "Fresh Corpses" and will incorperate the makings of many different types of zombies includeing stubby ones.

Thanks Locrian, but thats the beuty of milkshape 3d, uv mapping and skinning are similar but different. I model the head and skin it at the same time then start on individual parts of the body and skin as I go. I love the freedom milkshape gives with texturing, i can go back and change anything with ease and not have to worry about mapping the whole model.

yeah milkshapes reders don't do it justice, like you can see the leather texture detail on the pants and jacket it just looks like a solid color giving it that cartoony look. In engine it will look much better. But I do have to admit that I did have a certain amount of comedy in mind for the proportions of him.

and.... theres the fat zombie that the FPSC world has been waiting for!

I think alot of the crit you have recieved reflects peoples differing tastes (the blood, the way it's shaded etc). I also feel that the textures on the clothes could do with a bit more, uh..texture!

That aside, my only criticismis the fat neck. Theres something about the way it overhangs the bodythat I don't like. Other than that, it's a wicked looking model.

Will you be rigging it with the zombie biped, or a custom one?!

Thanks, Butters, It will be rigged to the zombie one so you can easily use it with all the current zombie scripts. As I said milkshape doesn't render well so maybe I'll paint another less transparent layer of the leather texture on his clothing to bring it out more.

Hey, I forgot to ask you something earlier. How do you get textures to show up in the milkshape renderer? Every time I try, it just gives me a grey model, do you know how to fix it? Thanks in advance.

go to the materials tab,click new then <none> and choose the texture you want.then choose the group you want from the group tab and hit select so that its red and then go back to the materials tab and press assighn. make sure the window you are wanting textured has the texured option checked

Ok here is an update on 'Ted' -
I strengthened up the blood, added a collar to mask the neck a bit (wich I originally planned but never did for some odd reason) and I sharpened up the whole texture making it less cartoony and it brought out the leather texture more. It loooks like he's being rendered with shaders but its the accual texture sharpened up.

That definately looks better, especially the blood! I love the way your heads look, do you have any tips or anything to help me out a bit? Maybe you could make a tutorial on head modeling in milkshape when you are done with Creeps & Freaks or something, and then I would be very, very, very thankful! I am always getting wierd shading issues and whatnot. Thanks for any help you can give to me!
