I'll kill two birds with one stone: Here's a short video clip of the zombie surgeon PLUS one of the new zombie animations. Stop on the last frame for a terrifying close-up!

I'm concentrating on new animations for these zombies, so each one moves differently, nothing is worse than having characters coming at you exactly the same way in perfect sync. Enjoy!

And here's another clip showing something that hasn't been done yet in FPSC, mouth animation! Nothing as fancy as Half-Life 2, but I simply rigged up a jawbone for this character to make his mouth move.

It really adds a lot I think, better than having a frozen face, even for a zombie.

Here's a clip showing a short portion of his melee attack, notice the mouth moving as he starts the attack.

Warning, this MAY be a little intense for young kids, but you never know nowadays.

Excellent once again, bond1. The mouth movement does add to the intensity as does his one good eye. I don't think I like the way it's looking at me!

Nah, most of my animations are a combination of both. One of character studio's coolest features is being able to work in layers with animation, filtering out specific body parts, adding transitions, and working with controllers to add even more motion that would be hard to keyframe.

I have decent collection of basic mocap from stockmoves, with this I can repurpose it into about anything by adding hand-keyframed animation on top of it, blending it all together, then mixing it down.

looks very nice! the only thing i can suggest is that the hands seem a bit straight out and flat for a zombie, maybe deform them or curve the wrist or hand bone a bit?

Yeah, I should have added that this is not the final animation,or texture for that matter. I just did a sloppy rig-job concentrating on the face to test out the jaw animation. But thanks!

Dude, that would be some freaky game right there...one I'd buy for sure! Zombie bunny? !

@Bond1:
Now that's drool worthy right there. This pack may very well be the one that gets FPSC the respect it deserves.

@Jon:
Oops I re-read your post. Are you referring to the walking animation or the facial animation?

@Gemstone:
Thank you very much!

the walking animation, maybe for this model (even though youve already rigged it, sorry) split the hands into fingers, spreading them out in a more 'manic' form?

for instance:

but great work, and good news about the mouth animation, finally the community (or you, lol) are opening up to new enhanced forms of animation!

i wouldnt mind making a zombie biped, though i have little experience in character animations

Oh ok. Well I haven't finished the rigging yet, there are still a few areas to clean up. While I probably won't be adding any more detail to the model, I'll add a "fists clenching" animation to the walk cycle, it should make them more dynamic, opening and closing as it moves towards you. Thanks for the suggestion, I can already tell it will look a lot cooler because of it.

Now that I'm down to the wire, I realized I never even tested mouth animation in FPSC, well I'm glad to say it works. The surgeon's mouth opens and closes as he walks, and open right before his attack.

All the gruesome glory:

WILL DO! I had better get a PayPal account in the meantime! May I enquire as to the release date for the pack? What's the theme of the pack? Apologies if I have missed the information.

Release date: hopefully it will be released with the next TGC newsletter, in about a week.

As far as the theme, well, it's ALL characters. About 20, ranging from civilians to police officers, to healthcare workers, a cool hazmat guy, and zombies. I'll have a downloadable PDF where you can view all the characters and descriptions.
