hey can you wonderful people give me some ideas to put into my game? basically anything. weapons or items or armor or enemies/monsters or characters or character names or spells or even events. please give me a picture or description of the thing when u post an idea! by the way, u will be reccognized in my game if i used your idea. ill put your name in the credits. if u want your real name in, then tell me what it is. if not, then ill jis put in yer username. thanks, ill greatly appricieate it!!!

[b]sorry for the lack of info, the game will take place in maybe close to midevil times. its not going to be modern day though, its gona be about deamons/devils that errupt from hell and start attacting people. basically....i allready have ideas for two videos ready lol. theyre gona rock, but yeah....thats kinda it. the game will be an rpg. and then ideas for a shooting game later on would be nice. but for now, focus on the rpg please. thanks.

i have an idea of a game im no longer developing:

main character name is quill. the start cinematic starts from the view of a planet from space. the planet is much the earth originally, with all the land grouped, then it zooms in (very fast) to a forest with a cockatrice rushing through the woods smashing everything. Then after a while, he is killed somehow (havent decided yet) and in dieing there is a huge explosion. Then all the fire clears up and there is a feather (this could be the title screen). Then you make it obvious that time has passed and there is a man going through a forest and he finds the feather. Then he is attacked by some wild animal and the screen fades to black (or red). Then the main character (quill) wakes up from his nightmare, fully dressed as it happens, jumps out of bed. You go downstairs and you are told to fetch water from the well. On your way you are attacked and you lose but there is a cinematic of the feather on your head froming a globe around you, lifting you and shooting the enemy away. Then you are confused but an old dodgey voodoo bloke comes and tells you he saved you. This guy is actually the main enemy (im ruining the story here). He tells you to help him stop the guy who attacked you because he is killing village children. You goto dungeons (or locations) for him and each time you gain allegiance with an undead leader (however you think its for the best). Then as a final mission (for the baddy) you have to raid the castle where the king lives and at the end you meat the princess. You think wow she's beautiful and guess who turns up, they guy from the start. He makes a joke about how you put up a fight before, then he tells you that you helped the worlds most evil man summon an entire undead army. Then he tells you about your feather and how its from a cockatrice. He says there is also another part left behind when the cockatrice was killed, a scale. (surprise surprise the baddy has this bit). Basically thats the start, you have to collect something to enhance your power in order to stop the evil man who is ransoming the lives of all the world in exchange for the feather. As you advance you learn abilities from the feather. Its more like zelda than an rpg. Think about it. Meanwhile the other bloke has become more powerful and at the end he turns into a huge monster. You kill that and you win.

Needs a bit of work but its all yours (or anyon elses).

Hey maniac,
That game idea sounds awsome, but i reckon you should actually be playing under the influence that the guy is good and in the final act something triggers that he is bad blah blah. Then you have some final battle with him......eventually he is almost dead, he falls onto his knees...All this stuff is revieled and then dies, puff goes the army .

no you play about half the game thinking he's good and helping him raise an army (unaware since ur just a kid). Then you spend the next half getting enough power to reverse what u've done.

Weapons:longsword-long sword
Swortsword-short sword
dagger-shorter sword
Bow- bow and arrow
Arrow- arrow for bow
Crossbow- like a bow, but uses bolts
bolt- like an arrow used for crossbows.
Bastard Sword- about same length of longsword, but generally heavier and fatter.
Warhammer- big massive hammer
Halbred-long stick with blade(like a large axe.)

Here are some basic weapons needed in almost any medievil rpg.
I gave some very brief descriptions that anyone would know.

Good luck with your project.
I also take this is one of your first projects with db since you joined recently.Just remember to keep things simple.Don't focus on the graphics and gameplay right from the start.Have your story ready and well thought up.Once this is done you can start worrying about graphics and how your game looks.

Wow. I'd love to see this be created. Hope you are driven to complete this sort of tasks, unlike the majority of other RPG programmers. Make sure you're using "top-down design" - breaking the required tasts up into large groups, then breaking each group into smaller groups, and then again and again until each segment of your project is understandable and easy to implement with code.

if this is your first game put it aside. For some reason every new programmer has a fascination with making an rpg and yet its a completely unrealistic 1st projuect. Make an arcade style game with repetitive levels so you can get used to coding a bit more. Then consider an rpg. My long term objective is to make an RPG. I have several ideas (like the one above) but whenevr i start them i get stuck since it's damn hard work.

i draw so here a few ive used on characters

double sided spear (spear with point on each end)
samiri sword
nun chucks
magic swords (fire sword water sword ect)
stick (sticks are always good)
throwing knifes
short swords
flaming torch
ninja stars

thats all i can think of 4 now

baddies:

Brain sucking leeches: they jump inside people's heads and turn them into zombies

zombies: refer to brain sucking leeches

Demon: has 2 really big claws were hands are supposed to be......need I say more?

Arch Demon (opposit of arch angel): 2 giant flaming swords, and a good pair of wings to go with it.

Shadows: Invisible fiends untill they attack

Golumn: all brawn no brains, seriosly.... no brains

Chimeras: Mix of several different animals, like a Griffin.

Incarnates: Posess creatures, transfer to new bodies after sucking all life.

Spectres: Completely invisible, except for a floating sword.

Insurance Salesmen: Knock on your door, attempt to enter house against your wishes and take your money.

Venus Mantrap: Speaks for itself, really.

Large Hole: Sits there, completly silent and motionless, eats people but doesn't chew or close it's mouth in any way.
