Hi

-------------------------------------------------------------------
[UPDATE - 060824]

The game now works out if you have won. And i have added a small splash screen.

[Edit]

Its stupid o'clock and i realised that the scoring was a bit odd, now thats been fixed!

Download updated below!

-------------------------------------------------------------------

I have been working on a 3d connect 4 game for the past couple of weeks. Here are some shots of the game so far:

You can download the game zipped (exe + media).

I have a chat window in there, does not work yet, but it will do when i get the multiplayer bits up and running. Controls for the game can be found in the Help menu.

Looks good, you could really add a lot such as a senery. Add shaders becuase it must be very fast.
Try using Dark Physics for more realistic falling!
Check out the Ultimate Shaders pack.

Looking good!

I think i will consider using physics further down the road. I would like to be able to make all the pieces fall at the end of the game. Would be nice to see.

I had a quick look at using some shaders. I might try using a few, its just i have read that they are really hit and miss on peoples machines as to whether they work correctly.

I will be adding some scenery in an update. The players will be able to choose where they play, like a jungle, in the mountains, etc. For added bit of fun.

Cheers for the positive comments! And so quick too!

This looks good, and it should succeed if you know how to detect whether or not 4 pieces are in a row...Good luck!

EDIT: Wait nevermind it does work. good job

EDIT 2: Nevermind, it doesn't work. I just tried the demo... If you can get the 4-in-a-row thing working it will be much better.

If you need some help on the AI for this look up VICTOR. It is a deep level min/max algorithm for connect four, it actually shows also that connect four is a guaranteed first player win if played correctly.

Just downloaded it, nice game

Here some suggestions:

Get rid of the chat window and make one your self with like cloggys plugin looks so much better for games.

Make it so that when the grid is full and there are no winners it says "draw"

oh and some AI to play against the pc.

Cheers,Eddie
