Is it actually the full version or is it some doped down thing. I'm downloading now, but I'm on dial up. It'll be awhile longer.

I'm working on a high res photorealistic texture pack. High res as in 7 megapixels, e-mail me with suggestions.

I'm wondering if it's just a silly demo version. If it's the real thing, awesome, but if it's just a demo blah

Yes it's the full, legal version. No limitations that I can discover.

I lay upon my bed one bright clear night, and gazed upon the distant stars far above, then I thought... where the hell is my roof?

I've still got the CDs from when I brought it years ago... Well, CD 2 anyway. Unfortunately its exporting system, whilst good, will only allow you to export the land, not the sky or anything else

It is the real thing, Daz are like that, they gave away Hexagon 2 for $2 to platinum members for a month to promote its release, and they're giving away Bryce 5 to promote the release of Bryce 6.

This is probably a really stupid question, but how in the world do I close Bryce? I can't find any obvious methods and have been having to restort to ctrl+alt+delete.

If you don't like the zip verion, after you register the zip one, go onto your account on DAZ and look under avalable downloads. There should be an installer version available. Enjoy!

Alt+F4 works just fine, but I'm sure there is a way somewhere, as one of the guys on a 3D forum I go to says, 'Bryce has the crappiest interface ever.' If I find an alternative, I'll let you know.

Its been a while since I used Bryce, have the CD somewhere round here, but from what I remember there's a pop-down toolbar at the top when you put your mouse near the top of the screen, and in there you can go to File > Exit. Something along those lines.

What is Bryce? I'm downloading it just because it's free, but am still wondering what is the purpose of me having it?

@Drew G: It is a program that is very nice for rendering Terrains, and Scenes, etc. You can also use it to make Skyboxes and terrain models.
