Hi, this is my first time posting here so I've read some of the threads and this place looks really cool.
I've got a problem with my PC. I've recently purchased dungeon keeper 2. It crashes at a random time when I run it (sometimes as early as the main menu ) I've found out that I need to deactivate the DMA (direct memory acess) setting on my CD-drive. I've looked for this option for a while and connot find any indication of where it may be. Please can you help me find out how I can go about disabling the DMA?

Thankyou greatly
RichMan

If you are running Windows XP:

1. Right click My Computer and click properties
2. Select Hardware tab, and click on Device Manage
3. Expand "IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers"
4. Normally the CDROMs are installed on the secondary IDE so double click on "Secondary IDE channel"
5. Select the Advanced Settings tab
6. In the device you have inserted the CD, Select "PIO only" from the transfer mode.
7. May require a restart

Hope that helps!
