Where as my band still needs a singer, and our drummer needs more than 2 days off a week from work.

But good luck on your shos mate, try not to be too distracted by groupies.

heh, thanks all. Yeah,we,I know, this may shock people, but we are hardcore. Most people here seam to not like it But its gonna be a great show. I just find it funny I'm playing the show with a 50$ yamaha guitar but I'm using a beranger amp. That things small but packs a humongous punch. But the good thing is,we are opening for a band(out-kri) that we've seen in concert alot, and my bassist lets them stay at his house while they have shows here in ohio. Plus I'm easily getting over 25 people to come,so we can either record our set,or get 2$ per person. Yeah, but this is a huge step for my band. We haven't been together too long, but apparently we are good enough for the owner of the underground to like us

Hard core is great, sort of like ours. As long as its not that new 'Hard Core' that is really dance, but the morons called it that although Hard Core is completely differant.

Wow congrats on that, I always wanted to play there but was not up to a 4k mile road trip . Most famous club I ever played was The Living Room in Providence, RI. We opened for some decent acts there since Randy, the owner, always liked to book a local act on the bill. Opened for DRI, Fates Warning, Raven, Dangerous Toys, and Ritchie Blackmoor (not all the same show ) AH I miss those days (Who am I kidding carrying a halfstack down two flights of beer soaked stairs at 3 am is no fun.)

I'm shocked alright! Most people here doesn't like hardcore? That makes me a sad panda.

Btw Lukas, tell me more about your band. If your metal/hard rock or a close genre than i've propbably heard about your band as i've listened to alot of Norwegian music in those genres.

And now the almighty stage fright is occuring. This is going to be a scary time before the show. Its going to be a wonderful experience, but its also going to be a scary one. Any tips on getting rid of stage fright? I mean,on stage,I know I won't be scared.

Hardcore... never would have guess that, not with your avatar of the powerpuff girls being de-eyed

Some VERY important things to keep in mind while doing your first show:

* Don't jump at/ on the first groupie you get... be patient, the better ones always come later!
* If you get nervous, remember what Bob Dylan and the lead singer from Tool did/ do, and just play with your back to the audience
* Charge for any autograph you sign that isn't written on a body part
* If opening for Whitesnake, don't let them use pyrotechnics

okay, seriously though...
* Video tape the show on a camcorder. When your band is done with the gig, you can watch the show and figure out any areas where you need to tighten stuff up, and also, stage presence can be worked out

* Never trust the house engineer! In my experience anyway, the house's (venue's) sound engineer always sucks. If you can find a sound engineer whose willing to work with you for free (or beer, next best thing), it'll help

Well, the show went over great. My band got the most people there,we got paid 64$ and all that. We will probably be asked to play there again too. But unfortunately my parents are making me feel depressed about it,cuz they said it wasn't even music. But then, everyone else says it was great. I personally was very happy,we even got a dude from another band to do guest vocals with us for our first song. Most people we talked to thought it was are like 5th show, cuz we did it so naturally. Plus, the fact that we opened and people started pits, but then didn't for any other bands(except for the head-lining band),was cool too. But the show went over great, but I am starting to completely hate my parents

we have a recording on our myspace, but we recorded with a digital camera when our drummer had no second bass drumb and our singer barely had a mic.... so we will hopefully get a semi-good recording eventually

Glad to hear it went so well! I trust you forgot about your nerves when you went onstage? Nerves are weird like that...

How about a link to your myspace?

IceBound Melodic rock/metal band with loads of lead guitar, clean female vocals, and more guitars! What more could you want?

I like to see these kinds of bands live, where everyone starts jumping and rushing into each other in the mosh pit.

ahhh,so that was you! I was wondering who added me

@Jeku - Yeah, people moshed for us. We had a giant pit going. It was so awsome. We were an opening band and it was our first show, yet we had a bigger mosh pit than most national bands do there
