Ok i just finished building the new computer today but since the cpu draws the air inwards would it be better for my side case fan (which is almost opposite the cpu) be better sucking air into the case or blowing air out of the case?

I'm using both 3 fans on my pc, one on the back sucks air into the pc, and 2 on the side blow air out, its a weird setup, but I get cool air from outside blowing through my pc, because I'm next to a very large window.

think of a flow through the case expelling hot air way from parts.
the g5 has 3 -4 channels that suck from the front and blow through the case out the back

You sure the fan isn't upside down? Makes no sense for a fan to pull air into the processor who's heatsink is trying to get rid of it.

um.. that's kinda the point, it draws cool air down through the fins of the heatsink which disperses sidewards out away from the processor.
i would have the side fan blowing air into the case to aid the cpu fan

70oC for a gpu is actually the top end of ok under heavy load, they are specified to rediculous temperatures. my x700 reaces into the 60s before the fan actually starts working hard. and i have case fan blowing air at it to help it out. (btw it hits 60oC as soon as i start a game regardless)

ok here is the rig and the temperatures after exposing it to FEAR for about an hour:

Motherboard: ASUS AM2 socket it has the true 32 lane technology
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+
GPUS: Two Geforce 7600GT XXX Edition (manufacterer XFX)
RAM: DDR2 2GB 667MHZ
PSU: 580Watts

The tempuratures on the rig was:
GPU1: 71c
GPU2: 69c

so as you can see the tempurature is pretty high, i am going to go buy two more fans tomorrow and enable the AMD cool n quiet technology for it

sound good?
