Wotcha, folks.

Recently I asked a question as to why DBpro burred an image when displaying it. Apparently this was due to automatic mipmapping ...of course!

However, it still blurs stuff even when I simply print or draw to the screen.

For example:

DBpro code...

Gets this display...

BlitzBasic code...

Gets this display...

Why is BB so sharp, and DBpro so burry? Is there an automatic setting that does this? Is it mipmapping?

I actually rate the DBp community much higher than BB's. But I'm finding DBpro really hard to get into.

Any help, please?

Tobo.

I think they're trying to make you use sprites for 2D

...When I try your your code, it looks reasonably sharp but not as sharp as BB I'll agree...

I played around and made it look just as sharp as BB. Look at the bottom right and press "Settings" then look up and press "Fullscreen Exclucive Mode" rather that using the "Set Display Mode" command. Now try the code without the "set display mode" command and it will be sharp.

Yes i think it has too do with your resolution. If i put my full res (1200x1600),
it looks sharp and nice.

Cave man has it.

When using a windowed mode (ie, not fullscreen exclusive) DBPro will use a window sized to the current screen resolution and stretch the display bitmap to fit it.
