I'm kind of a noob when it comes to modelling but i need help with my gun (and yes i used the search option). I know it's boxy but this is really all I know how to do. i did read the tutorials but that didn't help. it's supposed to be a pistol.

first, please post the screenshot as a .jpg

anyway, I whould say that you start off with simple models and move up to more elaborate models like guns and people. I started with simple box objects, then started to create simple kitchen things like pots and pans. I then moved on to create very detailed models of floor lamps and other objects. if you are a newbie, you should start out with a easier 3d modeler like anim8or then move up to milkshape (because thats what it looks like your using) and if you get good enough, you should try and invest in a very high powered modeler like 3ds max. The model you made isn't that bad for a first.

Hope this helps,
Brian

3ds max is too expensive. I recommend Caligari Gamespace. It's made especially for games and can export .X files so there's no messing around with convertors. Just my opinion.
