hey i need a little help.

im selling a book online. (pdf) The way im hoping to do it is, client pays thru paypal, by credit card or whatever, ill have the business account to accept those payments.

i want as soon as the order processes, if possible, to email them the product, the online book. either as a link or an attatchment, automatically.

i know TGC, when i bought cartography shop 2 or so years ago, sent me an automated email containing my serial and where to download.

Im not sure of the best ways to do this, but any help is appreciated.
also any tips on how to sell a book online succesfully are also appreciated. thanks for your time.

If you go onto the developer section on the paypal website, it will tell you how to handle callbacks which provide your webpage with either a success or failure message. You can then get your website to email the user.

To sell a book, you really need a chapter or something freely available so a potential customer can read it.

Yeah as John Y says take a look at the PayPal SDKs, the PHP SDK for example is very simple to use. You even get a sandbox where you can try out your code without involving money.

OS commerce is usually bound with most hosting plans today is another groovy alternative, but far more complicated then a paypal service, especially for [1] product
