Nah, most computers I've bought have the makers advertising all over the place with lots of rubbish installed, and this is one of the things they normally do. Personally because of this, rubbish partitioning, and because I like to know exactly what is on the machine, I normally format and re-install from scratch. And that picture definitely goes away.

Cheers

I am 99% probably lying in bed right now... so don't blame me for crappy typing

nope has nothing to do with the bios, it is actually a windows registry entry - like everything else is in windows

lol, like i said, it's quite simple, all you have to do is

1. Get a 180 x 115 .bmp image
2. navigate to WINDOWS/System32
3. Find the files OEMLOGO.bmp and oeminfo.ini
4. Backup the files
5. Replace them with your own
6. (to change the displayed text, just open up the oeminfo.ini, from there it's pretty straight forward).

that's pretty much it, just make sure to have your new files the exact name of the old ones, if you have any questions, simply post your problem and i will try to help you, have fun branding.

by the way, after you do it, post a screen shot, i wanna see how they turned out.

There is absolutely no need to delete this post, or to remove the instructions. This is good information for many people. Just because someone else did it on Windows 95 doesn't mean that this isn't good information. I bet that TONS of people on this board will find that to be a really neat trick.
