Metroid Prime:Hunters is a must buy, I love the multiplayer death match, reminds me of Quake3 a lot, it's amazing how they got it all in a handheld game.
Animal Crossing is for sandbox gamers
- you either love it or hate it.
Bubble Bobble DS has a new version which is not great, but the classic game is excellent, if you don't mind retro then it's worth picking up preowned.
Tiger Woods is pretty good too, I prefer it to the traditional joypad versions, you use the stylus to sweep round a curve - it's good but missing some expected features like single DS multiplayer.
Monkey Ball is decent, the new control method is pretty strange, so I tend to use the D-pad, but it's a fairly good conversion.
Trauma Centre is great, stuck on a level with tons of exploding arteries, but despite the difficulty level it's really cool.
The Mario games are all worth buying, I'd say that Mario64 is the best value for money, you get a massive game for your 30 bucks.
The best driving game I've played is Ridge Racer DS, just using the D-pad as I find their stylus ideas suck, but it plays just like it should, lot's of power slides and it's nice and smooth. I have burnout and Need for Speed, both kinda sketchy. These driving games are always going cheap, but are really not worth the bother.
Tony Hawks Sk8land is great, if you like Hawks games then you'll get a lot from it, the graphics are a bit like Jet Grind Radio (I'd love to see a DS version of that, with real graffiti!). The online mode is fine as long as you don't pwn anyone too much, they tend to quit out of games quickly when they're loosing
. The new downhill Hawks game should be out soon, looks pretty good.
Splinter Cell is often going cheap too, it's got the main gameplay elements, and it's worth picking up if you like that stealth gameplay, graphics are a bit bare, but it sucks you right in nontheless.
Final Fantasy 3 isn't out yet, but the screenshots look insane, definately one to look out for.
