Wow!

The search is way better, and I like how you can click on the users online. What are the other updates (If any) the post forum message box looks smaller.
Great work Rich!

Other small additions - you can view all threads a user has started (+ board filter) by viewing their profile.

Also, check out what happens if you now click the 'View' button. I've tested this in Firefox and IE7, hope it works in IE6 but not checked yet.

Cheers,

Rich

Good grief - the View thing is a bit funky! (Shame most of the time it'll be used for box on a matrix posts )

indeed, that's my only complaint is the being thrown back to the section rather than the post I was viewing.

I am using IE6 and it works Rich. Nice job!

I'm working on a high res photorealistic texture pack. High res as in 7 megapixels, e-mail me with suggestions.

I like the new fad People were doing this kind of stuff with java in the 90s and it just pissed people off with slow connections and turtle computers. Nowadays, as long as the effect doesn't take too long, I think it really is cool and adds a lot.

EDIT:

And I just noticed that you can still middle-click the View with Firefox and open the image in its own tab.

The view function is similar to that of the Word Press theme database. Me likes. And these new features really make it easier for everyone as a whole.

Is it a good thing that you can now see who the mods are in the online list? I mean, some idiots could see that as a sign to spam the place when they notice there are no mods online.

Other than that, I'm liking the snazzy updates!

I like the view thing. Seen it on a few websites now and it works really well. Also fixes the bug that you could not trace that some of us with IE6 were experiencing with uppercase extensions.

I started having trouble posting yesterday, then I noticed this "forum update" thread. Coincidence? I randomly can't reply to some threads. After hitting reply I just see a blank white page. If I try to hit back, anything I've typed into the message window is gone. I'm not even sure if this is going to post, it randomly decides which threads i can or can not reply to.

Oh, and is there something else about the "View" I should be seeing, other than it working?

I like the view feature, btw it runs on Safari Version 2.0.4 (419.3)
I was going to implement a similar script from dynamic drive for yamaha but the boss ruled it out.
seeing your own profile with a list of what you have donated, makes me want to hurry up with the new pc so i can restart some larger and smaller projects.

Could we have all the threads that someone (myself) have posted to (not just started)?

Yesterday I spent a good 15 minutes looking for a "free textures" thread where I remember congratulating the poster because the content was just what I needed (Unfortunately I lost my bookmarks and the link is gone).

After 15 minutes, I gave up looking. And the link is still in here somewhere...

I also tried that. But

a) All the "google snippet" previews only contain drivel like "Joined: Sun Oct 10th 2004 Location: United Kingdom Report to a moderator"

b) I searched for Miguel Melo texture, clicked every single result and still didn't find it

*sigh*

The new window title mod is great, specially for searching in Google, BUT for us web developers that have javascript debugging turned on, you get an error if title contains apostrophes because you don't escape them. Try the 'identify the pic' thread and you will see something like this if you have debugger turned on;

Also, in the last few days I've started using RSS feeds cos they're just so damn handy, but the forum's RSS feed is just plain wierd, it lists the latest post for each forum, which is kinda annoying as some posts are very old!

Is there a chance that the RSS feed lists just the latest 10 or 20 posts?

The RSS I use for this forum shows the most recent "n" posts from the entire forum (not filtered by board). This for me is kind of annoying, I'd rather have the option to filter so I can have two feeds (1 for geek and 1 for DBP).
