Well this is related to all the post about can I have this, can I
have that, how do you do this.

The Moderators and longtime users here are right the information
you are looking for is out the, search, search, search, if
you don't find it revise your search, re-word it and search again.

Here's an example of what I mean.

Personally I am a big time n00b to FPS Creator but I wanted to
find a free model and place it in my game.
I did searches on models, free, 3ds, .x, converting, creating entities, and so on.
Here's the result.

Well I found a free heuy cobra at turbosquid, downloaded it,
edited it to remove a few unattached objects, converted it to
a .x file, created an entity, placed it in fpsc, did a test on
the map, took a screen shot, All by searching the forms for what
ever I was trying to do, so for all the other n00bs out there
like me, the information is out there just search for it, you will
find it, and save yourself the hasle of being laughed at or
your post being locked..

Now I need to do a search on how to texture a model.

here's a screen shot.

Yep got one.

But the point of my post was not to ask about mapping,
but instead to let other n00b's know you can find what your looking for if you search for it.

If we expect every noob and seasoned user to refrain from asking questions like the ones you suggest, then the only remaining use for the forum would be for the peddlers (like myself) to advertise their products.

Everyone with an Internet connection knows how to find Google and do a "search". I was always under the impression that a forum (like this one) was there for the purpose of asking those questions. If not, then it serves no meaningful purpose at all.

Sorry I was in no way suggesting that people should not ask questions
sorry if it came out that way, just trying to make a suggestion.

After scouring the forums I have seen a great number of people ask
a question just to get a reply like "Read The Manual".

Just trying to help out.

OK, sorry if I sounded like I was biting your head off. It's just been a reoccurring theme in the forums over the last couple of years to blow off noobs with the "do a search first" mentality. I misunderstood what you were attempting to do/say. Sorry about that.

I just happen to be of the strong opinion that the forum exists for the sole purpose of providing the help/resources people need and that if a forum users, old or noob, doesn't want to help by answering the question or pointing them in the right direction, that they should simply not read the post to begin with.

I agree the forums are for information/help and advice otherwise
it would be labeled perhaps just a gathering place.

More and more people are finding that a forum is usually the best place to get that information, or help they need.

While we are on the subject of searching, I did a search on
"LithUnwrap" for tutorials and found a post with to links to
tut files one was 33 megs the other was 120 megs after downloading them, when I tried to watch then all I got was audio...said it couldn't get the video codecs, I have no idea which codecs it needs.
Any suggestions?

In the meantime I'm gonna search some more but I would really like to watch thos t
2 tuts. The files are lithunwrap1_a.rar and lithunwrap2_a.rar
