Hey guys and gals, i'm a new programer, kinda ambitious as well. I'm moondog's younger brother. I've just startd using darkbasic, and it's pretty cool. I'm starting a small project which i hope to finish in the next month, to challenge myself and learn how to program.

Wazzzzzzzup?!?!?!

Your goal sounds good. Glad you're not trying to make an MMO as your first project like some of the people who come on here.

Little brothers can be a pain sometimes, but I'd never trade mine back. The cool thing is that one of my brothers is into game design a bit too. Once he's ready to code I might have to show him the ropes.

Little brothers = not fun.

Only naive people who've never had little brothers would say something like "I wish I had a little brother".

thanks for the welcome...yah, i've been reading through the forum, i think one of the TGC banner's says it all, "...place where MMO's are born and die" i'd be crazy to do a MMO...i mean, if i had a staff of like 100 programers and graphic guys, not to mention tech support and writers...uh, and the actual builders...CG artist..have to have an opening movie...hmm...and, from what i know, theres a lot of information passed from client to server and back..not to mention information from all the other hundered of people playing...talk about $10k server!!!

ok! enough of that

i thought i'd start off with a R-type game, but top-down view accelerating upwards.

Welcome, you will learn to ignore any and all suggestions i give you if you value your life.

(One time I told my firend to take up the art of sticking swords down your throat! Another firend I suggested Fire Breathing! and then there was the time we tried to shake a whole house by playing OPP with all of our speakers put together with volume and base on high!)

And if you'll excuse me I must go watch a Star Wars film and fall asleep drinking orange soda and reaing a book. (none of that nasty NEW star wars films, I'm watching Return of the Jedi: Special Edition tonight!)

How i got into DBP was, i've always been interested in game design. So my brother gave me a copy of RPG Maker 2k, and told me once i've mastered it, he'd show me something more advanced. I spent a good 5 months learning it, and making a pretty cool RPG.

This was my bro after i was done:
Josh:
"Allright, heres Darkbasic, i only got two rules...
One, dont create an MMO,RPG,super FPS,or next gen game for your first project, or i'll kick your arse...
Second, don't ask me to do media for you, or i'll kick your arse...
Other then that, have fun!"

It was funny really.

Being the eldest I can honestly say younger siblings are the worse form of torture, regardless of their sex.

Oh come on guys, having little brothers isn't so bad. I myself am a younger brother, but I also have a 3 brothers younger than me (yes I have a big family, 2 sisters too). Sure siblings can be a pain sometimes, but they are also tons of fun. I mean who else can you pick on, wrestle, beat up, and win every time. It will be awesome once I get my computers networked, because me and my brother will be able to get some C&C Generals games going. Seriously they aren't all bad if your door has a lock

However I am the yougest sibling, I did tell on my brother and sister a few times when they were naughty, but serves them right, they used to put grass hoppers, ladybirds(ladybugs if you're american) and spiders down my back to annoy me.

Anyway, welcome to the forum mate.

Instead constantly bug other people for it, and get really abusive, throw tantrums and wind people up, directly insult them and you'll do fine, I call this the 'How often can I get banned game'

my little brother is now 28 has a 3 year old and is 6'4" and easily 130kgs with martial arts belts hanging out his pockets, tells jokes non stop, wont stop talking, cant shut him up because he pins you down if you go for the throat, likes computers and dreaams of being a movie director.
hes alright for a younger brother, however relationships mature and blah blah blah allah jihad allah.
we dont get along sometimes, but brothers have a bond somehow when you grow up, it gets better.
especially when you all go and get a beer etc..

hi moondog ltnh and his bro

I can see that in the classifieds already - likes long walks on the beach, computers, jihad in the name of Allah, dreams of being a director.
