Hi, recently I have been thinking about creating my own Collectible Card game. So I figured I would put my skills to the test and see if I could handle a simple card game such as BlackJack.

The games been a great learning experience, I learned how to shuffle the deck of cards, and a lot of other things that I believe will prepare me for my ultimate goal, a CCG. Anyhow, this learning experience became more than fun and now I am trying to make it the best as possible, screen shots and demo below.

Some things I would like to do / will do are
I plan on adding sprites to replace the default DBpro text
Online Blackjack done Click Here
Add "Insurance, Surrender, Split" and such
Release Source code once Game is complete or more complete.

Thanks

Oh question, does any one know if this is the first full BlackJack game with Graphics? The only reason I ask this is because when I searched on the forums I couldnt find any card games.

Oh, and I'll prolly release my source code once the game is finished.

Looks very nice for a Blackjack game.

[Edit]: Just played it and it seems to be running at an unplayable speed.

Benjamin, Im not sure why it might be running slow on your computer, Whats your Comp Specs and Video card. The game is being programmed on a gaming PC but I did test it on a 5 year old PC today and it ran fine.

Anyhow, I tried to make the program faster by adding some functions to replace about 100+ lines of codes. I also put sync rate to 0 and fastsync on, No idea if that will help.

Also, In my update I added smart "Aces" that will be value 11 or 1 depending whether you will "Bust" or not.

Ok! There is no text in the game at all, its all sprites... I turned the backdrop on and the backsave off. It *should* run fine, I mean the game has and is running fine for my PC, so im still unsure of the exact problem.

You can download the new version of the game in my first post, if it still runs slow let me know, It should run fine, if it doesnt I have no idea what is going on.

The latest version is running a lot faster.
It seems that the game doesn't know when you hit blackjack and won't let you buy insurance if the dealer has an ace showing.
But this is an excellent improvement.Keep up the good work.

Much better now, but those "smart" aces aren't very smart at all!

I got this:

2,8,A

And by the side it said 11 rather than 21
I got 10 next anyway though

Also, does it have five card trick, Ace+picture(can't remember the name) or split yet?
