Lukas, putting this in a snippet because it's so OT
.
I'm in about 5 minds about Lonewolf. I could tidy what I have and
make a 1 level demo, which is the most probable route because
there's so much in it that I plan to change. As it stands I'm not
overly happy with it - mostly the AI, but also the terrain system
is different now, so really I should discard that terrain system.
The main thing is that with DarkAI and Darkphysics, I could make a
much better game, and my ideas for a new engine would make it
really shine. So I'll most likely redevelop it with my new engine
ideas and new plugins, and make the game it's supposed to be - but
I plan to release an as-is demo. Bearing in mind the state it's
in, it's reasonably polished in it's own right - but hopefully a
demo would get some usefull feedback.
There's a million PC FPS games, and the original idea behind
Lonewolf is to be different from them all - pretty tricky
undertaking and unfortunately it's not all that unique as it is.
There's lots of stuff done for it that hasn't been implimented yet
- for instance beer bottles, like you leave a beer bottle as a
lure, so the enemy goes for it, but you can also use the beer
bottle as a melee weapon, throw it, smash it to make a better melee
weapon. Along with that, there's a shuriken throwing star, a
clawhammer, a samurai sword, a dart, and a gnarly combat knife.
With Darkphysics I'll be able to impliment this stuff and more.
But really, I dislike the enemies more than anything. They're too
samey, not nicely modelled, badly animated... So they'll be
revamped as well, but because I want ragdolls I plan to make my own
animation system, so it's all set to change a great deal.
Anyhoo, here Jeku, have your topic back
