Well I decided to not follow my origional version up.. I'd had some better idea's for it and I've learn a lot since then...
This is Version 1...

Now - version 2!

Its currently not "playable" - however the board generation is pretty much done (apart from the mountain/rock tile type and assigning dice values to tiles).

Moving the mouse around the board changes the camera target and also positions a "road" where it would go (once that next bit is programmed).
I have also created a UV textures house and barn/factory. To position these hold up or down and move the mouse.

Pressing left and right rotate the camera around the board.

Thanks to Clueless for the skybox, Thanks to RUCCUS for creating the sheep model - fits in perfectly!

I attach the game. Its a self extracting EXE. 2.95Mb.

EDIT: I've also learned from the past - not everyone can play at 1280x1024x32... So I've got a resolution picker at the start.

Screenshot 2 (Closeup): (NOTE: The tiles don't have the gap anymore - that was making positioning the roads and houses difficult)

Hmmm, I like the graphics, clean and simple, good job! The background though is funky if you ask me and doesn't fit the rest of the game.

I actually found some nice skyspheres over at the Open-MMORPG forum. They do look a lot better. The skybox was just a simple stand in until I found something better.

I did consider zooming - maybe use of the mousewheel?

mousewheel or -/+ would be good for zooming

AMD 64 3000+, Radeon Mobility 9700, running Windows XP Pro 32-bit, with 512megs RAM.

[Edit] Oh, and my default res is 1280x800, because it's widescreen

For the skysphere you might want to rotate it a bit each loop on the y axis... sometimes that makes it look good sometimes it makes it look bad

Glad to see the games coming along

Which version of DirectX do you have installed? I compiled the EXE using 6.2... Maybe your graphics card cant handle it?! No idea!

Looks great. I tried making this myself as well, but in typical myself fashion burned out after two weeks.

I just tried it on my work machine which has one of those fantastic Intel Graphics Chipset things which have all the graphical prowess of a 3 year old with a red crayon. It worked "fine". Never went above 15fps, but worked fine.

Which version of DirectX are you running? Are you using DBPro 6.2?
