Found a link to this a couple of days ago from a BBC story. It's the Artificially Intelligent computer program that came first for the loebner prize bronze medal.

Their winning AI bot called George can be found here

It's slow. But it's convincing, at least half the time. I'd love to see the code!

The bastard! You can kill it off by just asking it to describe something. It either says no, or comes back with a totally unrelated comment.

ALICE from MIT once asked another AI bot through the scientists cutting and pasting the questions if they wanted to take over the world, the other bot said "please define world"

Works okay for me - accept for a couple of glitches. It's still obvious it's a computer though.

See what I would do is make this AI bot like it is, then employ a bit of an idiot to come along now and again on some wireless terminal nearby and take over. That way you get a few people going "Yes, it is pretty good. But I knew it was a bot as it was answering like an idiot at times". Tops.

lol, i was talking to the alice bot (a little more intelligent than jabberwacky) and had some strange responses also.

here is part of my conversation

Human: where is jupiter
ALICE: it is the fifth planet from the sun.
Human: are you sure?
ALICE: I am as sure as I can be.
Human: are you on jupiter?
ALICE: I am on disk.
Human: that makes sense
ALICE: Yes I understand it perfectly.
Human: i thought you were on mars
ALICE: I am on disk.
Human: no your not
ALICE: Are you serious? Is this a specific reply?
Human: yep
ALICE: Try explaining in more general terms.
Human: what kind of disk
ALICE: What kinds of disk are there?
Human: hdd or cd
ALICE: cd.
Human: you're on a cd?
ALICE: ALICE eats electricity.
Human: that was a strange response
ALICE:" ALICE eats electricity." was a strange response?
Human: yes
ALICE: Alright then.

i tell ye, some of these ai bots need work lol...(not that i could do it, but its still funny to talk to them)
