Hi

The Nerd and I just made this video today.

We did all of the recording and editing today. It is our very first try at video editing, and we both think it went pretty well, so we thought we'd want to share the video with all of you.

The stuff we're doing in the video isn't really that impressing, but we think the editing and camera angles made it look ok.

Basically what we do in the video is some Le Parkour, mixed with a bit of tricking and some funny cut-offs.

We hope you like it.

Oh dear, it appears some rude individual refered to The Nerd as a dork. Why did you even approve the comment. Why.

Ignore Megaton, guys, it's his inferiority complex talking. True it's not amazing, but it's a good start.

Ignore Benjamin guys, he quit parkour 2 days after he started doing it. Something to do with being too retarded to figure out how to roll.

Otherwise good start with the flips, guy at the end of video.

Never started it, you must be thinking of your imaginary friends. Or another one of your personalities!

Which one was the nerd one who was you? Other than that, it seemed bland no offense. I mean jumping off of little kids playing equipment while and doing a 360 is not very hard. And the part where you climbed up the stair thing looked a little wierd(too slow). I liked the part where you hopped over the railing and kicked the wall though. And i hated your choice of music at the end. Hope your later attemps at a movie later on go well.

Yeah, he was the same guy who also sent me a lot of annoying MSN messages.

I told him he should have jumped off the stairs afterwards, but would he listen? Oh nooo.

I rekon it's time to stop messaging yourself then bud.

Yeah, the climbing part was quite slow. I dunno, maybe exercise or something before filming yourself doing it?

I'm sorta confused now...were you the guy in the pink shirt, or was that Nerd? The pink shirt guy had a slouchy posture, so I wouldn't have taken him for a Karateka. Well anyway, putting my foot in my mouth now. Work on your stuff I guess.

edit: Okay, I read through the thread and figured out who's who. My mistake.

You can go once a month for 10 years or 8 hours a day for 10 years and that sentence would be true either way.

We'll not delve into this matter at present time.

It was sub par, not the best video out there, not the best tricks out there. Yes I know you already warned us but what kind of response did you think you would get?

That is definitely NOT le parkour xD

This is Le Parkour, but not even close to it being at it's finest in this video either

I might be being a bit harsh but if you're going to say you're doing Le Parkour, dont show a video of summersults into sandboxes and someone climbing up a set of steps...

BTW Le Parkour is usually done with a goal location in mind, you wouldnt find many people going up stairs to come back down again, theyd go up the stairs, onto the roof, and down the other side. Serves more of a purpose.

<EDIT>

Sorry Ben , I've never heard of it with the Le/La infront anyways, till now I always thought it was just Parkour.

Yes it does

I have seen that video, and in my opinion it is one of the best parkour videos out there. I know what parkour is, it's about getting from point A to point B in the fastest way possible. The thing with the stairs was not meant to be 'cool' or a faster way, but it was just about taking an alternative route.

But we posted this to get some constructive feedback, and even if most of you clearly think the video sucks, we have gotten our feedback. I hope that maybe next time, our video will be a bit better.

But thank you all for commenting.

I'm still quite pleased with the editing in the video. Since it's our first try. But it's atleast nice to get views from others Then we can try to improve from those. If anyone got more comments then please share.

Thanks for the commenting.

I worked with a Danish guy a few years back, Michael Jakobsen his name was, and I can swear he walked and went up the stairs exactly like me. I believe you should have your locomotive system checked.

I have vague plans for World Domination

You all pounced on this video and it's actually pretty good.

It's quite ballsy, well enough filmed / edited and the tricks are also quite inventive!

Good watching, The Nerd!

Id just like to clear up that I wasnt saying the video was crap, just that saying you're doing something as hard as Parkour and not following through makes Parkour seem lame, I've got a few friends that do it well and it just got on my nerves a bit.

Also, @Megaton I didnt say there's a tonne of people that do better than that video I provided, I was saying that even though that video is good, there's still some that can do much better. Some.

If you ARE interested in learning Parkour/Free running, Im not sure about in Denmark but in Scarborough there's several teams you can join with to learn properly. If teams arent your thing Id imagine its just like skateboarding (the learning process I mean) whereby its good to just do it with some friends where you're not afraid to screw up infront of everyone, its also usually good to have a friend or 2 that are good at it to give you pointers (atleast thats how I learnt how to skate, and it worked pretty good).

So, the video was ok, the idea bheind it was... kind of bland, but in all I only disliked the Parkour...

Well... We've just always done it a bit in our sparetime, so I guess we do as the learning process of something like skateboarding

Yes indeed. It wasn't really the idea that we are proud of. More the editing and all that

Thanks. I think that 'good' is pretty well done, since this is the first time we touch a video editing program.
And yeah, we picked 'Bad Day' because the lyrics made my miserable front flips a bit funnier to watch.

Now you see what good warning us does So, now I know alot more than I did before I watched the video. Not just about the youth of Denmark, either. XLNT.

There is only one shot that was too cinema verite for me near the end, but I took that as adding to the whole 'bad day' aspect...it was a bad day for me, too...touche.

ruccus, you were lucky to have some friends to teach you how to skate.
i started skating in a deserted place where everybody used rollerskates :/ so yea i felt really cool at that time.

eventually i learned to do 50cm+ ollies and i was "in the group" for a couple of months, then we moved.

too bad i think, but if we hadn't moved i wouldn't be here today.

Hey, I don't look wierd! And that shirt isn't pink! It's orange, orange, orange! But unfortunately the colors in the movie makes it look pink I won't wear that shirt in other videos again Hehe.
