I am working on a code generator for DBC, and I got an idea. Many people have problems making menus for their games. I have found that using sprites is a very easy way to make menus. If I create a small and simple program that allows you to make working menus, would it be a good idea?

Downfall:Arena by Terra Design Studios(TDS) is currently in development. Features full online or AI multiplayer maps, with 35 online maps and 15 AI maps. Demo release date will be somtime in October.

It would be a good idea.

Could you include click and drag sizing and positioning?

Enjoy your day.

There's several menu snippets out there, including one of my own, that are quite simple to use. Although, if anyone needs menus while filling the screen with sprites then simple 2D draw menus are useless. Sprite menu generator would be a handy utility.

I think I heard a rumour that there is a utility in production somewhere, which will allow the creation of comprehensive sprite-based gui's using a simple to use drag and drop editor.

Oh. I won't make it if someone else is, as my program won't be nearly as good.

Ric, would that be the rumour started by you about your own utility?

What's happened to that anyway? We were all looking forward to it.

Well if you do make it Soroki, could I request that you add input boxes that will allow user to click in the boxes and fill them in? I don't think anyone has done that yet...

Ric said it was still a rumor, so don't give it up yet.

Who me? ..... That sounds like a viscous rumour you started about a rumour I started!

Yes, work has been going on quietly behind the scenes, and I'll be posting a progress report on the WIP board sometime soon.

@Soroki: don't let that stop you writing your own application though - I'm sure our programs will not be the same.
