Hello all.

I'm doing a game of "mini-pod" racing game for quite some time.
I finnally got a video but it still dont show much. There's still a lot of work to do.

The video url is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0xGxldFkH_0

This video is a little slow than the real game play. And it is not me playing, is the computer (that's hy the movement is a little weird)

Thank's a lot for those who see the video and for everyone that suports darkbasic users through this forum.

Looks nice. The camera shaking like that all the time was a bad idea though.

Looks promising.

Thank's everyone.

The shaking problem is because of the """AI""" heheh. Actually, on this video it is the computer controlling the player, not me.

This is looking really nice. Have you considered having different coloured cars (or mini-pods)?

funny if it was the creator of the game, who is bad at the game he made himself

The AI was doing that?! Wow, that's an amazing AI+game you've got there. Did you program the physics yourself?

The AI was controling every pod. Even the player pod which I can choose to control myself or let the computer control.

Physics by Newton ! I'm not a scientist!!!

There's a screenshot. But it does not have much value since it is only a test level and test players. I will change almost everything for the final version...

Thisl looks great! And it reminds me of the fantastic game "Re-Volt". The AI also seems to be promising.
Good luck!

YES ! I Played that "Re-Volt". Very nice.
But I found the gameplay a little hard.

I was wondering on making a street scenario, but now that I saw this game I think it will be much imitation. So I think I'll do indoor ambients only.

Don't know yet...

Hehe, the music sounds like Blues Brothers, good choice.

Looks as good as before. And the camera movement is also well done.
Is the car in this video controlled by the computer again? If so, also great use of AI.

This time I was controling.

But the FPS goes to 7 when I record, so, I played like a dumb.

The camera changes sometime, this is not automatic. Pressing Tab key changes the camera to one of the 3 presets.

I apologize for there´s a lot of time since I don´t bring any news about this game. It is still under development (very slow, but not stopped)

Soon I will be releasing the Alpha test version.

Thanks for the good feedback.

nice work. Keep it up. I look forward to some more updates. and yes; the AI does a good job.

One question. will you implement rubber band AI; where if you get to far ahead they will pick up the pace. Or just let them run their own race?

Making nothing for the third straight year.

man that is one hell of a video, the speed is outstanding the interface is fluent and the graphics and scenery are something to be proud of on test 3, I will be playing this all day if it was a finished game , and one last thing, are there any other tracks you are working on or is that one the only one so far.

Hey, I just watched the videos on YouTube and the game looks amazing! Great graphics, great ship models and physics! I cannot judge the gameplay yet, but from the video the game should be fun!

Any news? I really would like to play and test a Beta version!

BTW off topic: do you know Brambilla is the most common surname in Milan, Italy? Are your parents from Italy?

it looks really good, physics and graphics were real good, you might wanna change the color of the p1 racer to like a darker or lighter yellow so it's easier to find when playing.

Thanks again for the feedback.

There are no much news at this time. Last month I worked a lot at my job, but if everything goes well I'll start to have more time now, so the game development will continue.

off: AlexRiva, I've been told that Brambilla is a common surname there in Italy, but never by someone that really live there so, now I'm sure of it thanks to you. My grand-grand-grand-grand-grand father is from Italy hehehe. (In fact its only great-grandfather)

Friends.

I just put on line the site for my game at the address: http://minipodraces.gamedev-br.net/

I ask that anyone who read the site please give a feedback on my English because I'm no good in translating.

Thank you very much.

Rodrigo:
Nice looking site you got and the game looks pretty good as well. I only looked around a bit and I didn't detect any bad English, only some weird sentences.

For example: "A test version of the game is being made and before the end of the year it must be available to download. The intention here is to make available not only the beta but also some wallpapers and soundtracks."

Would sound better like this: "I am working on a test version of the game and it should be available for download before the end of the year. The intention is to not only release a beta, but also some wallpapers and soundtracks"

And some feedback on your game:
The levels look very open, thighter spaces usually makes for a better racing game. I like the "mini" look
