Which version did you create it with? I can't open it with Cinema4D v6, can it be saved as a v6 file also or is that impossible?

it had the phong tag, i didnt save the file so i cant check it, but note that the imported .x files is mad up from individual polygons not one solid object.

Nice seeing all of these C4D renders, but how about getting the models into FPSC? That's what this is all about, has anyone had any luck with that yet?

I always make my models in C4D. I animate, uv-map and paint them in body-paint. Then I export them with the x-file exporter. Then I make them FPSC-ready with the FPSC Entity-Maker.
For characters, I only do the mesh in C4D and rig them in 3ds Max.

To make that model look smooth apply a smoothing tag, which should export.

If anyone hasn't got the skeleton to load into Cinema 4D 6 here is one of mine; Apologies if this looks like a take over, but it should help those with C4d 6 The skeleton should work fine for any character, it is set so you don't get some of the funkyness you do with some rigs.

To apply onto a model follow these steps:
Select the vertices you want:

Go to set vertex weight in the selection menu then click OK

Click on the new tag in the object manager, right click, edit then change the name to what you are to put in the bone 'restriction tag' (Or what I've put in this case) I've put for this particular one 'left upper arm'

Here is the content of the bone 'left upper arm' restriction tag, this will set any vertices labelled 'left upper arm' to the bone.

Once you've rigged your character, fix the bone, so now you can move them and so will the character.

it doesnt seem like a take over, but the rigging system in r6 looks really complecated from that! r9.5's rigging system is literally drag drop rotate scale and fix.

Seppuku Arts, could you perhaps attach the skeleton to the post?

@Screwed, its probably because C4D 6 is a bit old and sort of out dated, its not so complicated once you know what you're doing, you just have to apply the vertices to the bones, it does have a quicker system, but not as accurate as it takes an area, which isn't as good and can leave you with problems (Similar to rigging in Anim8or)

@Ben, oops, my bad
