This is a small FPS game (only 3 levels) that I'm making. A couple of you may remember this as Cavern of Flame. It has changed since, and been renamed Medianoche.

Screenies:

Demo
smuggler_bane.7z (7-Zip, 11.2mb)
(ZIP format won't upload correctly)

Finally, you'll notice that it is reffered to in the file as "The Smugglers Bane" Ahh, I'm not the best with names, and was too lazy to change everything when what I really wanted to do was upload this stuff, so I'll get around to it...

Feedback?

Looks good

The Ak47's muzzle flash should be forward a bit more.

Hmm, okay. The ideas to make it look like a small explosion at the end of the barrel, and I tried positioning it back a little to see if it could make it look like that, but no cigar.

Demo just finished uploading, a slight bit longer than I thought.

I'm working on uploading a ZIP version, but it won't work correctly. cPanel keeps giving me this: "Virus Detected; File not Uploaded! (Zip module failure ERROR)" (There is no virus in the file, it does that whenever I try to upload a ZIP) Anyone know how to fix that? If not, I'll upload an extractor.

cPanel never did that to me when i was uploading zips.....

A few things I noticed right off the bat:

1. Mouselook is way, way too sensitive. Turn it down, please.

2. No strafe. No strafe? Come on, now. It's not an FPS if it doesn't have strafe, is it?

3. Jumping. It feels like a jetpack cheat, really. You can go as high as you want, and it also uses "lazy movement".

1GB DDR-SDRAM (May increase to 2GB one day)
512MB ATI Radeon X1800 Series - Finally! A card that does pixel shaders correctly!

Yeah, the jump thing is a jetpack thing for my own cheat purposes at the moment. Hold it and you'll go as high as you like.

I didn't think the mouselook was too sensitive, but I'll check it out.

Strafe is added, but not working right for some reason. Rest assured it'll be working in the next version.

I can't unzip it - well, I can (winrar) but it then just comes up with a long list of errors and it doesn't work

I could unarchive the 7z file using WinRar just fine. Are you sure you downloaded the right file?

I can't dl it, as I don't have winrar or 7-zip. The screenshots look nice, though.

In screenie #1, that's kind of an odd terrain to have trees, don't you think?

Overall, I like the kinds of areas you made. Looks like a cool game, wish I could play it.

I know man, the terrain won't work right and won't do multiple textures. Stupid bugs, screw something up when you least expect it...

I'm not sure WinRAR will work, though I compressed it using 7-Zip so it's formatted correctly. If you don't want to install 7-Zip, just download the command line version. I won't be uploading a zip until I find a way to bypass my little cPanel problem.

I downloaded 7-Zip and played your game - you REALLY need to add strafe! Just do something simple like in the FPS example in DBP

Okay, okay! I'll add strafe, I was putting it off until later, and that's lazy. Next one'll have strafe.

I use 7-Zip, so I can't give you anything but 7Z, ZIP, and TAR
