Assigning a script to a character is as simple as selecting it as the characters AI Main script in the characters properties. If the character does nothing, the script is either not correct or is named wrong. Make sure that the script is a .fpi file, and not a .txt file, and is actually directing the entity to do something.
BTW. When someone helps you, like giving you a script or something, you should thank them. Otherwise, people will think you are unappreciative and ignore you.
