if you havent already seen this video of the band Dragonforce, drop what you are doing now.

These guys have some of the fastest fingers in the guitar world, if you dont like the first part of the video, at least skip over to 3:30 to see the duet/2 man solo i think any musician can appreciate.

It makes me happy to know that we still have talented musicians who arent about to die on this planet.

Yeah, they rock...

Herman Li doesn't even know the theory of his own riffs... I don't see how you can call him a talented musician. He's a skilled player. Thats it.

Dragonforce are ok, but a bit souless. I thought their debut was pretty good, but the second one was just more of the same. I saw them live opening for Maiden and they didn't me move at all (Maiden weren't that good that night either).

My thoughts on them are strange however... I should love them as they play exactly what I like: very fast but melodic metal with tons of solos. But... I don't know... I guess you can have too much of a good thing. I guess these days I like slightly more elaborate stuff like SymphonyX and Rhapsody.

For an awesome, yet balanced, shread album check out Vinnie Moore's 1986 "Mind's Eye". For another less balance but still awesome pick, Impellitteri's 1996 "Screaming Symphony" has got major chops too.

I have vague plans for World Domination

Tis a good'n, they were awesome live, so much so I didn't most, didn't jump or anything, just stood still and watched the speed. Although they are highly skilled shredders, but aren't the best guitarists. So I'm gonna give a question, what is a better guitarist rhythm or solo? I say rhythm and not because I'm a rhythm guitarist either...Oh and John Petrucci don't count, you could say he's both

Dragonforce are quite good, and Herman Li is an amazing player, but I wouldn't call him skiller and musical (as Benjamin would put it)

I just thought I would clear up that my opinion isn't that he is both. Infact I haven't made my opinion yet. If you ask me, shredding through an entire song is quite tasteless.

Much agreed, which you could say a soloist and a rhythmist are, there are very few guitarists who are both skill and musical.

Adam Jones is my favorite at the moment, doesn't have to be speedy to be skilled, tasteful, and musically inclined.

I find Dragonforce to be very unemotional. The only emotion comes from the chording, and even then its a bit bland.

I've never heard about this band, but they're very impressive. Ok maybe they're 'unemotional' or 'souless', for sure they willn't become my favorit band, but for sure I'll buy one or two CD.

Actually, I find the melody lines are horrible and the song is somewhat boring...
