I have a neat little porta-lift script. You can pick up the lift and place it where you need to go up, then use it. The problem is that I stink at modeling. If someone would make a model for me with a nice texture, I will give them the script and we will both have a nice useful item.

A movie of the porta-lift in action is attached.

When you see the movie, you will know the kind of model that I have in mind. If it could be textured with a "Porta-Lift" label and "Caution - Watch your head - Keep your Balance - whatever looks good, that would be great.

Best.

Yeah, well I can't do both much. I can make basic shapes like the model in the vid, but I can't seem to texture at all. No matter what I make, LithUnwrap can't work with it. Oh well.

Hey guys, I'll make you a porta lift model
today ok, it will be a pleasure.

About the UVmapping issues.
They can really frustrate yeh.
Basically you must determine that
certain groups of polygons/faces
have different names. Then in lithunwrap
you can hide groups and after you've layed out
your groups 1 by 1 you can then export a UV pic/bmp
I could do a video tutorial sometime but,
I'm still busy with my hands project for a while.

The whole idea of trading is a good one
and I've been thinking about it to.
We should have a thread where all interested
say exactly what practical skills they have down,
and how they are prepared to contribute.

Anyway, i'll post in this thread with
a UV'd model in a few hours.

peace.

They are not really portable type lifts, are they... kind of hard to carry around where you need them.

With a Porta-Lift you can grab boxes/crates/whatever and carry them up to the next level. You can go up in places where you couldn't before... to the top of a building, etc.

Anyway, what I am really working on is a flight device, and I keep coming up with other things along the way. The horizontal movement is giving me fits, but I hope to have it soon.

Best.
