"Light aura"??? Are you just trying to make the character brighter or have a light beam effect. If you're trying to do that you're gonna have to "ghost on" an cone shape.

If not, then position light and point light, as Alpha Omega said.

That has to do with the normals orentation of the ground that make the light be more or less visible..i guess you should orient the polygon normals in the spot where the character is moving in order to show the maximum light right there ..no idea how to do that tho...

hmm... the ground is perfectly flat though... wouldnt that mean all the normals face the same way?

In theory yes..but there could be small variations.. i remember once i had a car with four rotating wheels and 2 of them would lit up at certain rotation angles..odd...and for sure the off center was infinitesimal..
Also..if you want the character to glow then you must consider it's own normals manipulation....
There are snippets around about terrains normalization and light effect..maybe , if you find one, you could get some hints for your case

it will look like a lit wireframe matrix in classic 113
and it will look lit and textured with green in DBP patch4

it could be your video card drivers or the card itself.

Does a normal light example work for you.?

if u have win 2k and classic u might need a cls at the start
