Im interested in making guns for fpsc, what programs would i need? which are the best? i have anim8tor but i have no clue on how to anim8te with it. can you make guns in anim8tor?

I had the milkshape 30-day trial, but it ran out and i dont know if its the best program i can buy for gun creating.

then you might want to consider a weapon importer,the most functional one is at the moment WCS i believe...not sure though since i dont own it.

My arrival shocked some people maybe...but i dont seem to care anyway...behold my mights!

OK. im back, i purcased[i suk at spelingh. lol] i got milkshape, i have some skill on modeling, but i have no clue on animating. how do you make a seprate animations for idle,reload,fire,ect. but put them all on that gun. i dont get it.

wdo you just put all the animations on different frames? then put the frame numbers in on the gunspec.txt?

to animate in anim8or, go to scene and select move rotate etc, and click the animate button (the key) then just do all the movements and your done


Must refrain from slang type!

uh, whenever I go into any option aside from object, I can't see the gun, I tried copy and pasting also, what am i doing wrong?

never mind, i got it in there, now how do I animate it?

I animated my gun in anim8tor. set the gunspec to the right right keyframes, i have texture. i have everthing. but my gun doesnt show up when i play, just a crosshair. i can shoot though. its like an invisible gun. this gun is not the pic up there its a pistol. check it out.

I can model the gun. i can animate it [not great,but ok]. but what files do i need to put it into fpsc? Is HUD.x the gun? or is VWEAP.x? i dont know which. i need help. i animated the pistol [pic above] but it wont show up when i play the game. can someone make a video tut on this?plz

Ok. i know the difference between HUD and VWEAP and i ve got everything working including, sound,hud icon[kind of messed up]but still there, everthing and i can even shoot, but the guns not there. is it allagned wrong or something?

dr death, post your gunspec settings.

It could be any combination of things. It's probabily just out of view of the camera or it's not near 0,0,0 coords in your modeling program.

Just from looking at the gunspec file my best guess would be that you have the gun positioning off a little.Without the model I can't be sure but normally a gun positioned at 0,0,0 (and yours is very close to that) won't show up on the screen.

FredP's right. Start off by changing "foreward" to 20 or something to see if it shows up at all.

Try blender, thats the program i used for my rpg "Samurai".
Its easy and powerfull

Sorry about that, my internet router was down. technically i never said it was my gun, i never said i made it or anything if you read through the posts. i just needed a pretty good gun to test on getting it into fpsc, so yea its not my gun, but im not selling it or anything, so thats ok right?
