This is a melee weapon.
Simply unzip and place the folder into your gamecore\guns folder.
To use right click on the Player Start marker and choose the cleaver as your weapon.
I did not make an installer as it seems it is easier for people to modify the weapon if they can just open the folder.
There are no pickups...cleavers don't use ammo and if you need an entity pickup feel free to make one.
Also, the license is the same as for all of my other stuff.
You can modify the model in any way you wish.
There is a copy of the license in the folder.
As long as you do not sell it and you give me credit if you post it elsewhere you can use it for whatever you wish.

Several people aren't fond of my texturing style.
That's why I don't mind if people retexture my stuff.

FredP, I don't think I've ever commented on any of your stuff... Fantastic texturing or not, I'm allways impressed that you take the time animate and actually put your creations in FPSC!

Plus, it's fun to see the alternate maps people come up with

I thought i was going to put my head through the monitor trying to figure out how to animate.
I read/tried a bunch of tutorials but it didn't sink in.
Then it just kind of clicked one day.
And I still have issues at times.
It's just one of those things that once you figure out how to do it it gets easier each time you do it.

yea, my two other guns that were in my other thread were animated and made fpsc ready by walking dead productions, now I have a sniper model, but he's not answering my e-mails, I need to learn how to do it myself.

also i read that if yo export in .3ds it loses all animation data and the faces are doubled, is this true?
If it is then I can't animate my guns because I dont have a .obj to .x converter.

Try Biturn. It converts anything to anything (say obj to X) and keeps the animations I would presume.

Also I love the cleaver. Is there a script anywhere that lets you put melee weapons into enemies' hands and make them intelligent enough to use them against you?

I can't argue with that.
That is why I allow people to retexture my models.
It's even in the license.

Argh.... Another old thread that surfaces.... But hey its FredP's thread so not that big of a deal for me.... But since I am here and its up on the board again I just wanted to throw in a comment... I like FredP's style Ive been debating on making a simpson's hooro style game and all his work would work perfectly for something like that.... So keep up the good work FredP

Have you downloaded your CLiPs today.

good try but looks like a grey pointy box with a red blob on it, with another brown pointy box below. Good animation though.

When I catch up on what I need to get done and if I have the time I may go back and retexture some of my stuff.
I don't know when or if I will though.
I appreciate all of the feedback.

Id gladly retexture alot of your stuff, but fpsc hates me and makes all my textures come out blurry once inside of fpsc

Have you tried making your textures bigger than 512x512?
My understanding is that might allow you to make more detailed textures.
I might check it out later if I get the chance.
I appreciate the effort though.
And I want that blood pack you're making soon...

Lol, the blood pack's release date is set for the 15th
but off of that, I dont know, i always make them 512, becuase everyone says fpsc doesnt get more detail from anybigger
I'll try tho
