Well, I don't know if you can put Windows into an Xbox, but I would strongly recommend you put your Xbox through a closed window, might do you some good But if you really want to install windows into your Xbox, I think Anglia home improvement install windows, might be of use to call 'em round.

An xbox was made for games, not for installing windows on it.

What is the point in having windows on an xbox? You already have a PC to do PC things.

i dont know about windows, never ever heard about that, but you can install linux onto your xbox, xubuntu i think it's called, and there are video tutorials on how to do it on youtube.. btw i want to softmod my xbox, dont have any money to pay 120 bucks for the chip and for someone to insert it all together. where did you find a tutorial on how to softmod it?

you can only install linux on the xbox when modded, the only way for windows to run is via a x86 emulator in linux

btw it sounds like you do not know what you are doing. i suggest you go and find some websites that explain about the xbox, before even attempting to do anything with it.

Showing off to geeks, net or reality, consider I'm the only geek out of those I hang around with, I guess that would I'd have to impress strangers who live in Russia, Belgium and Dhurkadhurkastan

So really these is no practical reason, I'd feel like a techie geek if I got Linux installed on a PC, that would be enough for me

Lagmaster is correct, that's the only way I've found to do it at the moment. Sticking Linux on it and using Bochs, or the like.

Windows is already running on the Xbox and Xbox 360. The XGUI/XUI is just on-top plus all of the usual resource sucking applications. You wouldn't be able to run any of the apps that can run on windows on the xbox though... not due to the PE format (although that is a factor) but more because they require controls that the xbox doesn't have and the system access is completely different.

Why would you want your xbox to run standard windows stuff anyways?

windows cannot be installed on the xbox due to protection and hardware sceme but linux can with sotware modifications and or a mod chip (due to haveing access to linux sourcecode and lots of different versions) you can bypass the securety in xbox with linux but you won't beable to play x-box live games though but will still beable to play regular x-box games (software mods only)there is a tutorial that does work but also takes alot of work to do it
i think if i remember right that x-box has a modified windows 2000 on it. if you want portibility and still play windows games why not get a lapto(if you don't already own one)plus you can put what ever os on it and even controllers and what ever other accessories you want.
