Quote: "The Geneva Conventions are a joke. It ridiculous that someone thinks they can regulate war. When it comes down to it, humans will do anything to win a war. Its humane to kill a man in this way but not this way? Plus us "politically correct" countries are the only ones that even follow the rules, meanwhile our enemies crash planes into our buildings....

I completely agree.
Quote: "Only in photos and it looks horrible...but quick if not intstant... Which seems very humanitarian to me. "
It depends on where you get hit, it's not always center mass. Wherever you do get hit, it's pretty much a given that you're going to have a bad day.
Quote: "MRE's really do taste like garbage. My cadet unit decided we needed to eat them...for a week"
Try eating them for 6 months to a year (for all 3 meals), then get back to me.
Why do you think we went to th hotel in Kut to eat? Although our cooks could do some good stuff with the C-rations we occassionally had. I was always on convoys, so I had little time to "eat-in". My first MRE was cold spaghetti in a tube (back in training). I used to like the #1 (Ham Slice I believe).
Quote: "It says in the "50 questions" you can shoot paratroopers"
I was in the 82nd Airborne Division for over 3 years; it was always known to us that it was against the Geneva Convention to shoot Paratroopers when they were descending; but like most other things to do with the G.C., it's largely ignored.
I think we've all drifted off messege now. Let's not start a government discussion in Jonno's thread.
